i really don’t want to see Allen in defence. Has played defence in the past but he always seems to trail the oppo forwards and give em a 5m head start.

On form he should be dropped but it’ll look like my man Willo will be given the flick

Hough - H Edwards - Maric
Ginbey - O Allen - Duggan
Dewar - Hall - L Baker
H Reid - Waterman - Ryan
J Williams - A Reid - Brockman

RR: B Williams, Kelly, Graham

Int: Cole, Gross, Hewett, Cripps
Sub: B Allan

Out: McGovern (inj), Hunt, Long, Owies
In: Waterman, Hall, Gross, Allan

  • Duggan's not working in the midfield, send him back to defence where's he's always been solid.
  • Allen to replace an injured Gov if Watermans available, otherwise he' could do with being managed a week to freshen up (and brock can play).
  • Harley to play mostly HF with some CBA's as his tanks not up for midfield atm.
  • Hall reinstated as shouldn't have been dropped.
  • Too many underperforming small forwards need to be replaced to give some kids a shot.
Would love this to happen ...what are the chances?

Hoping its not Jack Williams that is out. Said it before but he was a lonely non Harley Reid highlight from last year.
Comes in and does his job fine. Presents well, battles in the ruck (actually thought in the GC win last year that his ruck work was better than BW). When he takes a grab in front of goals its a fairly good chance of going through. When he takes a mark up the ground moves it on quickly where you don't feel as though he is holding up the play and has skills to execute the kick.

Him getting games is exactly what this year should be about.

100%

As per friggen usual, Jilliams comes in and carries out his job with little fanfair, making no mistakes in the process.

He also laid 5 tackles. FIVE. For a big man who lacks athleticism that's impressive. Only Graham had more for WCE with 7.

Billiams and Allen also had 4 tackles each, no one else had more than 3 which is pretty damning for our smalls

Re: Our million small fwds, all mostly shit - Brockman stays. Long to be dropped right away and Owies already on thin ice - broke up a few good looking forward forays. Decent pressure guy but is a liability in a chain towards goal.

Brockman more promise, can be silk. Looked nice in some pre-season games - let’s build him up a bit. Champion maybe to pull a Dudley if he keeps kicking 3

Feel like Kelly and Hunt are doing more harm than good in the team. Both ball butchers atm, seem to ruin so many possible chains of possession.

Time to debut Gross and Allan
Think we could also do with Grego’s composure. Has shown more poise this preseason than half the senior blokes. Kenh can’t arrive soon enough either.

Archer had a ripper game but I don’t know why Mini didn’t use Willo in the ruck till very late. He actually has season body compared to Archer and showed some solid promise last season when he was thrown in there. Reckon it was the suns game where he had a massive quarter and sorta was able to neutralise Witts for a bit.

Kelly, Hunt, Baker, Duggan and cole. All senior players and all bloody ball butchers. That is unacceptable from your seniors/leaders. Kelly wasn’t this bad till a few years ago. Genuinely don’t know how you can go from a silky player to fumbly player picking the ball up and butchers the ball by foot.
