I'm sticking to my belief that Hinkley will get the chop first, farewell tour or not.

But Voss is making a very good run at this

If Carlton lose to WCE next week, do we think the bosses may cancel Voss's flight back to Melbourne and tell him to stay in Adelaide instead

It just seems crazy though, given he's been there for all of 50 games or so? If they sack another coach after such a quick turnaround, what's going to be any different?

74 games coached at Carlton for a 53.38% win record

Prior to this season, he's coached a total of 180 games across 8 seasons at Brisbane & Carlton, 13 wins is the most in a season and only played finals in 3 of those years

Unless something dramatic happens, I don't see him at Carlton come the end of this season let alone next season

But he did win two finals as recently as 2023, so surely that gets him a bit more grace.

I mean hell, he got to the same spot Hinkley keeps getting to over the past decade, and it only took him 2 seasons, lol.

I just don't know if it'll fix anything getting yet another coach in, and starting again. I daresay, it would be the straw that broke the camel's back, and a mass of players would probably head for the exits - even Cripps.

If I hadn’t seen him be be consistently bad for some time now, I’d be asking to check betting patterns around McGovern’s friends and family. It’s almost impossible to be as bad as he is at times without it being on purpose. That passage with the two left foot kicks in a row, just what in the hell was happening there. Haynes is somehow worse.

Carlton really have themselves in a hole. They were flying at the end of 2023 and could have actually won a flag with a bit of luck like every flag team needs. Perhaps that was their opportunity and it is not coming back.

"Yeah Michael, weirdest thing, it's not letting me book your return. Can you just hang out with your mates at Alberton for a few.... years?"

Hinkley took the reins of a club that was perceived to have basically nothing to work with on field. They were a genuine discussion point about folding a club. He definitely took them from bottom 4 to top 4 in about 20 games.

The Carlton list has a perception, founded or unfounded, that its players are stars underperforming. It's certainly true of some. Voss was the first guy to get it humming but he didn't significantly tinker with the mechanics.

When Ken took over at port they were a completely irrelevant joke of a club. He rebuilt them to the point where they are consistently contending.

That club owes him. A lot.

A seriously ungrateful group of fans.

And he did it really, really fast.

He has been riding on that a lot and has failed to address gaps since

Go easy guys. The Blues have a tougher draw compared to the comp.
They don't get to play Carlton.
Still you watch when we play them they’ll win. They are kinda a bogey team for us in recent years, though we defeated them last year then the next time we played them they gave us a flogging…

Its the fear I have.
They have the Eagles next, which they should win, then maybe they can keep it together to roll the Kangas at Mahhhhvel before we play them at the MCG.
If they beat us because they got on a roll, media will pronounce them as back, and a real premiership contender despite being 3-4, and the week after us they play Adelaide in Adelaide where they likely get smashed by 60 points and the dream is dead for them again.
