Surely out there training getting kms in the legs if it’s just a finger injury? Would assume there’s some footage of him floating around

I have seen almost no media commentary regarding his injury, training routine, or anything of the sort which is unexpected for one of our core midfielders. No questions about injury or estimated return date at any press conference or any media segment. Therefore the only way we can know is if people are observing training in person, hence my original question (has he been training with the group?).

A pretty good looking team

Whilst I love both the HF and F lines and think our B and HB lines are awesome I really really really got excited when I read the C line.

Think as part of warm up they should line those three up in a pre game sprint just to get us all going!

Yes he has….but not contact

Glimpse into the future for sure. Could be an All Australian centre line in 3-4 years.

Just kidding, they don't pick wingman.

What's wrong with Kolo?

Not overly liking our bottom 6 to be honest. Glad Freo have a few key players out.
Groin injury

Reported as something he's been managing for a period of time, and while they've been ramping up his training, they've opted for the conservative approach and given a return timeframe of 3-weeks

Groin injury 3 weeks.
Gives osullivan time.

Based on this team clearly sdk is no1 ruck and Stanley and Duncan are depth for the year (Duncan will play games to get him to 300 but he won't be in the best 23) which should surprise nobody.

Mannagh is a big out but we should cover well.
Ruck will be a question mark all year. I would have gone clohesy over mullin or oconnor but otherwise the selection is spot on.

I reckon we will play the matchups. Jackson is a decent matchup for SDK. If Darcy was playing Stanley would be in.

One thing is pretty clear to me, if we are playing a team with a physically imposing ruckman SDK is not our ruck. We played Stanley in the finals last year ahead of SDK for a reason.

We will want to keep Stanley fresh through the season, because there is a strong likelihood we will need him again in the big games at seasons end.

I think you are overestimating where Stanley's at. His body doesn't have many afl games left in that knee.they will keep him training and the odd game here and there purely in case by the month before finals sdk is getting smashed in the ruck and Conway is still injured, and they need to change it. That's why they asked him to stay on as cover for finals. But he isn't playing 16 games this year for example.
I do worry about sdk as a ruck but then again I thought tdk was a crap ruck until last year.

Been 26 years since I lived in Melbourne but I was amused by those believing the BOM forecast some 4-5 days out - they could never get it right when I was there so didn't think much would have changed ;)
Forecasting has improved a lot in recent years. One of the few things that has
I miss the element of uncertainty. I too remember the dodgy Melbourne weather forecasts.

I agree with you that Stanley doesn’t have many games left in him. Which is why we need to save him for the right matchups.

I wouldn’t expect him to play many minutes in the vfl either. Just enough to stay fit enough to be ready when called on.

I can see him being important in August and September.
