EDFL Premier Discussion 2025

Still waiting for clarity on teams followed by you BF faithful. Let's see who can be honest and share their teams for all to see. Or maybe this is too hard incase scrutiny in the following weeks comes back to bite. Surely this cant be too hard as you would've penciled in a win against the Lions for sure. I bet it's met with silence though.....prove us DP faithful wrong!! C'mon who's 1st up.😁

Is this a piss take? If they rolled that team out against Keilor, they would get flogged by 15 goals. At the moment they are a 3-6 team. But they will recruit. Is Mark Galea a Deer Park junior?
15 goals......turn it up!
They will suprise and push most of the top 4 premier sides.

One out this was your post from 2023!!!!!!!

Been a few personal changes there from the side that played Saturday knackers. Go and see how many infact, seen you have the time to go digging that far. Obviously a busy day at work today!!!! 👀 What a rediculous correlation from Saturday's poor performance and personal differences to the statement of 2023.

I'll even help you out, for starters players missing:

Bailey, Goater, Holmes, Greenwood, Elton, Greenhough, Dorgan, Mundy, Testa......enough said!!

Haha going back through that thread... and they wonder why they cop it on here.

Worse team now then when they won the B Grade flag apparently, might have to sack the recruitment manager!! I bet the wage budget hasn't decreased...

I’m with ya buddy.. 🤐 🤫

Great post and I would have given senior coach 2-4 weeks suspension to highlight the fact this is unacceptable and I’m sure it would have sent the message out to ALL other clubs. Senior coaches know exactly what’s going on and especially with Mick as his over everything Keilor and basically runs the football department.
Totally agree, regarding coach, they should also be held accountable... and the people within the club who are responsible for salary cap should also be banned from going to the club on match days for a certain period also ! This rubbish needs to be sorted out !

Question- Why hasn’t the salary cap gone up as Covid was ages ago when it was severely reduced??
agree the salary cap should be more, but don't know how much more, but like a said in previous post, the points system is how the comp can be evened up easily ( you cannot govern the salary cap properly, and this will keep happening )

Very Easy
the points are 46 points per team
1. the team that wins the flag loses 4 points ( 42 )
2 the runner up loses 2 points ( 44 )

The team that finishes second bottom gets 2 points more ( 48 )
The team that comes up from B grade gets 4 points more ( 50 )

Then say as an example the same team who wins the flag and goes back to back will then come into 38 points

But then for example if they do not finish in the top 2 the following year, they can get back 1 point per year
( But if they can win it again, which would be a great feat, they would come into 34 points )

This will be the only way the completion can even up over a period

Surely the heads running this competition must be smarter enough to see this is the only solution

Why should it be more? It's not sustainable for clubs to raise 200k for 6 months, the costs get pushed onto juniors, volunteers have to work harder and longer to raise the funds. A real head in the sand moment here guys, the cost of living is rising and to pay more for 22 amateurs to run around on Saturday, we'll bump it up for everyone else.

Not sure how you can stop people entering a ground and more so with no fencing. Some of these people are volunteers but coaches are well paid and he would have knew exactly what was going on. Should have got weeks as coach..

But they found the $$. Even if the find a middle ground in the middle but wasn’t it about 220k prior to Covid in premier?

No they didn’t. There were only a handful of clubs who could afford it in a sustainable way (ie year after year). The rest either didn’t spend it, or stretched themselves beyond what was sustainable to get there for a year or two before falling off again as the money dried up or the people got burnt out.

They are pussies 1out.

Lot of chat about juniors and I still see the big clubs with the most juniors in keilor, Abers and Strathmore all play at 45/46 points. So that tells me they have poor junior programs and spend the money on buying recruits. They talk it up but in fact are all full of it. Steal other clubs juniors purely to avoid competition.

Interesting 🤔...........

Deer Park won 4 of their flags before the Points system came into being ( I won’t mention the salary cap for obvious reasons) . Then 2 of the last 3 were won by less than a kick. The points system was always going to make it impossible for a club to succeed without much of a junior base . They were on a clear decline in their last days in the WRFL . Some of the teams they were able to assemble from 2013 to 2018 would have cleaned up most local teams in Australia. Once their gun 1 pointers got too old ( Mcharg Stewart Greenhough McKenzie Etc) they were always going to come back to the field no matter the competition they were in .
Very true statement.

Altona beat DP 10 out of their last 11 encounters. DPs one win over them was in the 2019 GF by 3 points.

Make sure you throw Pacco in that basket. Must be tricking Muslim parents that they are actually the Essendon NGA program

No! No! No! In Turbo’s eyes, Pacco are exempt from any critical comment. They are subject to a different set of behavioural standards/criteria to every other club as far as Turbo is concerned.
