-Marshall missed 4 out of the last game (4-0 in that period)

And I bet that all of these guys will be back in the team come week one of finals. I do understand Burton coming in but the others just make no sense whatsoever.

And now Burton which is understandable but still not the best and Jed over Narkle is just a head scratcher. I'm worried Marshall will be back next week as Chad has said he's been cleared by doctors and Hinkley rates him firmly in the 22 so I guess Hinkley is back on cruise control and doing what he wants at the detriment of the team.

Before Jed was picked, I saw a world in which he jagged a flag this year.

Haven't you heard? McEntee getting 4 possessions as sub against Narkle getting 6 possessions as sub is going to be the difference between flag contention and straight sets. And McEntee's absence has been the sole reason we've won so many games lately, the correlation cannot be denied!

People put way too much stock in who the sub is. The standard sub game is one quarter where they get 5 meaningless disposals in a game which has a fair chance of being already decided.

It is rarely going to be the difference between winning and losing.

Narkle has probably looked the best as sub and I think he is our specialist sub in finals but also fair that he needs a full game at this point.

For me it's more the fact that this selection is symptomatic of the mediocrity infecting the club under Hinkley. Perfect opportunity to select a player with some upside and expose them to more AFL footy. But poor Kenny "doesn't have the cattle" Hinkley reverts to type and selects one of his favourite players that is a well known quantity that has reached his peak and offers very little.

I'm generally not the at type of person that loses it. Sorry to disappoint you.

I accept the reality of the situation.

Koch is the antithesis of the Port Adelaide ethos.
Hinkley is a poor coach.
We have a very good list.
Jed is a spud.
Burton is super unaccountable.
Marshall has been soft and down this year.

When we play Freo, we have to see what Burton and Jed do because we've played very well recently without their negative traits infecting the games. We will see.

If you read any of my posts, you would know I'm not a fatalist you accuse me of and always give players hope to succeed but its tough when you see bad form after bad form.

On game day, you have to back the guys wearing the teal.

Just a very interesting time where we have a lot of momentum in the team but a few coaching decisions could derail it.
