Chad Cornes saying "he gets the ball to ground" gives me ****ing nightmares. That's been his hard on for years. Dixon2Ground was his pièce de résistance

I'd play him. This small ball shit is wank. We're always trying to emulate another system. His attitude stunk in round 1 yeah, but was he the only one? We lost by 90 lmao. The whole playing group and club's attitude has stunk. The club isn't even trying this year and we knew that was obvious from the moment they announced the failure plan. For the sake of giving Mitch and Lord support and a 3rd option up there, and getting Ollie Wines (lol) out of the ruck. We've always looked better with a 3 tall system up there. He can come out for Luko when fit, and/or if Whitlock shows enough in SANFL. Till then play him forward/2nd ruck.
And where is the proof of concept for this small ball stuff anyway? We've always looked better when we have tall forwards, even average tall forwards, competing well and winning their position. Our small forwards have been a weakness for the vast majority of Hinkley's tenure including right now, there's no justification for basing our game around them.

I haven't seen much to see the obsession we had for himRichards turns 26 later this year. He shouldn't need development, he should be ready now.
Or like Whatley saying how good Ken coached in 2024 with this team looking at us nowLike the Gerard Whateley “Gryan Miers is the Lionel Messi of AFL” hoax.
Especially when statistically we're terrible at ground ball gets and loose ball gets!I mean is there any more to footballery than getting the ball to ground?
I'd bring Lai in over Atkins. If only for the "what did we draft him for (Lai), and Atkins isn't the future" factor.

It’s just not a sustainable game style that allows you to compete in finals, that has been proved every year since 2016…Dixon and the game plan set around him gets rubbished all the time but was it actually that bad in hindsight? Genuine question.
He was physically cooked and had to retire but he still had played some pretty good games for us, he was particularly strong for us in 2017, 2020 and 2021.
Early days but whatever this new game plan is or what Hinkley thinks is "building" seems worse. It’s just not a sustainable game style that allows you to compete in finals, that has been proved every year since 2016…
Low % shots on goals, to much emphasis placed on defensive forwards, opposed to kicking a winning score.
A defensive game style that only needs to be broken a few times and pressure mounts.
We have a weak pathetic club!Out:
DBJ, Evans, Mead
In:
Atkins (), Boak, Cochrane.
Berry - has to show something this week,
or it's off to the Magoo's.
Finlayson - ditto.
Evans - ditto.
Potential ins:
Lorenz.
Lai.

It's a team that feasts off turnover vs a side with a handball game plan that has failed due to not being able to cope with pressureI could actually see this being a 100 point margin. Not only will we be too stupid to not sit back and stop the bleeding, our players just won't put the effort in to defend anyway.
They just want to sell the tickets then its gravyThe AFL are going to regret all this WWE style crap by using this grudge match as the main event of Gather Round when Hawthorn are 12 goals up.
