Yes. When you are given out, the rules state you are out and you leave the field. You don't stand there arguing with a \nd berating the umpires. Get off the ****ing field. Simple.
And yet again someone dramatising in order to paint their own picture. He waited for the DRS adjudication and when given out he walked off whilst getting clarification. No "arguing" and definitely no "berating" - that's just your bias made up bs.

Hahahahahahahaha
Kohli averages something like 30 since 2020. He's not only finished, he hasn't been an above-average Test player for years.

for all the talent India have had over the past decade, they have very little silverware to show for it. A large part of it has to be poor captaincy.

Their current captain is an uninspiring underperformer who sulks when the chips are down in Rohit, his predecessor is an erratic flog with a massive ego in Kohli. The best captain of that crop was Ajinkya Rahane.

They are generally just individuals who rely on brilliance rather than a team. They aren’t helped by their off field set up. Some of their selection decisions are just mind boggling

Also **** off Sunny with your optical illusion shit.

The microphone used in snicko is at the base of the stumps ain't it? Probably no surprise that snicko didn't detect any sound with the contact occurring at head height.

He just said it should have been given by Wilson, had he done that then there wouldn't have been any controversy as Jaiswal knew he hit it and would have just walked. Hell, had he been a competent umpire he would have given the LBW earlier so this wouldn't have happened to him.
Two decisions in Australia's first innings wrong, Missed LBW, Missed hit off a bat and a missed edge.

The bloke should be sacked for that alone.

So who do we all like beating more? India or England?

England = Making love to the wife - Important, Still good but fairly routine.

India = Banging the mistress - Wild and fun. You want to perform but it doesn’t mean as much. They seem to care more than you do.

If Starc is cooked which I think he is especially with match figures of 1-111, we should go Abbott and Richardson for Marsh and Starc. 6 Carey, 7 Abbott, 8 Cummins, 9 Richardson. Still decent batting. 2 strikes bowlers in Richardson and Cummins, 2 stock bowlers in Boland and Abbott. An extra bowler in Abbott if Richardson is a bit underdone. We can't carry an injured Starc especially with Marsh not bowling.
Has bowled plenty of innings a lot worse than today and got 4 or 5

We aren't going to go at 7 with someone who has a FC average of 24 in a test we only need to draw

Someone mentioned here during th test that they seem to be hell bent on getting Abbott into the team.

Well here we are.

Can very easily see him become another Clint McKay. Probably not quick enough at international level.

That said, Starc seemed like he was on his last legs and IMO shouldn't play the fifth. But I'd gamble on Richardson (Neser's apparently not available, which is a shame).

I know it was the wicket that started the downfall but I didn't think the Pant shot was that awful. It was a longhop that deserved to be smashed. Someone like Pant needs to probably see the ball going to the boundary occasionally so he can keep his focus.
Sure he mishit it but the shot was there to be played

The 1st innings shot though was dumb
Its also one of the longest boundaries in the world, so hitting 6 there is some effort, especially with a man in the deep

Happy to say I was there today. Still working my way through the thread, but wonder if our catching had been mentioned. Was really good, took a few tough ones.

The Smith catch to dismiss Reddy in particular. Which got me thinking...

I might be getting ahead of myself a bit here (I am) but hear me out:

Steve Smith currently sits at 192 catches in his Test career, putting him at 6th all time (list: https://www.espncricinfo.com/records/most-catches-in-career-283548)

We've got one more Test left in this series, 2 to come vs Sri Lanka in Feb, WTC in June, 3 Tests against WI shortly after (Jun-Jul) and then the Ashes next summer.

Now if he was to play every one of these Tests and maintain his current catches/matches rate, I've got him retiring at the Sydney Cricket Ground in Jan 2026 at #1 with 212 catches.

EDIT: As pointed out by Gough a few posts down theres also the minor issue of Joe Root having to completely forget how to catch - which I've got as likely given his trembling hands ahead of the prospect of scoring a century in this great country a year from now.
