So Koby Evans (WCE) and Zak McCarthy (Collingwood) have entered the chat of NGA kids pushing to be drafted?


do we think an over reaction will occur and clubs will overlook NGA kids or perhaps trade out on draft night to try and grab a bargain?

Collingwood could do well if McCarthy goes inside the first round as they do not have a first rounder. Evansim no sure where he currently sits

Next year has some seriously talented kids. Dougie will be right up there with a handful of others who seemingly catch the eye more than some of their 18s counterparts.

Reminds me a lot of the 2023 draft with Reid, Walter, Watson etc who you could tell from a way out were going to be stars.

A couple of years ago, early year I was hoping that Joel Freijah kid would make it to our first pick. Drafted him in the 40s. It happens.

Yep. We essentially traded Freijah and your man Hugh Boxshall for Clay Hall. It was stupid then and it’s still stupid today.

Not sure if it was Bicks or someone else singing his praises but Blake Oudshoorn-Bennier (Bobby) has made the SA U18 squad.

Bobby and Schubert my 2 SA guys this year.

SA has a better underage crop this year than usual, hope they get games. Van Dyk must be injured atm, was a late out in round 2 I think it was and hasn't come back since. Dougie my lad, he's got it all. Will Day all over again but better up forward and even more versatile. Should play every game. If Van Dyk is fit, he should also play every game. SA selection thought is often baffling.

Sharp to captain I suspect, Cumming maybe the VC. Sharp left to rot at half forward again by Thomas at league level this year, needs to be put on the inside where he can dominate though his versatility in being able to play back middle and forward is probably hurting him there.

Charlie Dickeson pretty rough not to get a gig after his start to the season, would be top 5 on performance for the Under 18's this year. Small but mighty and a good leg.

Schubert my big watch, he's an absolute beauty and one who can pull down towering contested grabs all day, been doing it for years. Very similar marking style to Naughton (but he holds them).

Overall, SA side average, one top end star in Sharp, great tall in Schubert. Not much in the ruck, not much down back and bunch of ok to solid mids in Cumming, Kellaway, Roberts-Thomspon, Phillipou, BOB, but the under ager kids for mine will give a boost hopefully. I give them a 6/10.

Darcy Speyer a very stiff not to make the squad considering his form from U16's right through to now, been outstanding of late as well.

Cumming and Grlj have been the most under rated prospects this preseason IMO, I have Cumming in that second band of mids after Sharp. Who (if anyone) would you have on a similar level to Sharp?

Oh I fully agree, he's definitely above those others in the group, just named him first. He's probably one of the hardest workers you will see. Phillipou has more natural talent than all of them but he's inconsistent in his performances. Cumming will be an AFL coaches dream

I had him just outside the top 20 preseason, I know you’ve been big on him for a while. Good call . Still have Cumming ahead but the gap is shrinking!

I'm absolutely convinced that Tom Evans is an AFL player in waiting. Kids an absolute gun and has fantastic athletic traits for a half back.

If he doesn't get picked up in the MSD I'll be shocked.
