will we tank next year or just shite

I think we can make the 8
Doubt we make the 8. We'd have to be injury free and everyone playing to their max potential. Can see us blooding our new recruits through the year. We'd be lucky to get 10 games each out of Lynch, meatball and Hopper with their history of breaking down.

Can't you **** off back into the abyss now that the draft is over?
Nah 2025 one is starting

Our draft haul could totally revolutionise the game where clubs trade out heaps of players over a 2 to 3 year period to get 12 draft picks each year and totally turn their list over in 2 to 3 years. Watch this space
I agree. If we pull this off, others will surely follow. It's a copycat league.

Have to temper that with the unique set of circumstances that set us up.

1: We're coming off a dynasty
2: Players stayed, but ultimately went home (Bolton, Baker) or were on the cusp of best 22 and needed to maximise their worth (Graham)
3: Ex coaches who know the worth of premiership talent in a young list, Dimma & Mini
4: A club that's just a cherry away from contending, Freo
5: All 3 clubs that we traded with just happened to have the draft capital to make it happen.

Of course, to recognise this and plan from a long way out shows excellent strategic skills from our list management team, especially when targeting a deep and talented draft.

You're right though, clubs are copy cats and will try to emulate what we've done.

What it does show, and it's something that I'm in awe of, is that we are setting the trends in the competition and have been doing so since late 2016.

It's what makes me excited about how we can manipulate the changes in the rules with pick trading, firstly, how do we take advantage of and set the trend with 2 years of future pick trading? Bearing in mind that Tassie will rape the draft in 2027 and pillage the stocks of uncontracted players at the same time. Secondly, the ability to purchase picks with salary cap relief will add another dimension that hasn't been seen before.

I have no doubt that the list management dep't are all over this, we're going to have an unprecedented amount banked salary cap given that we can now bank 10%/year for the next 3 years, make no mistake, no other club has this ability. The doors that open with that amount of cash is huge, both in picks and players.

We're so far ahead of the curve that it's mind boggling.

Agree. Clubs will probably follow the same but others will continue to take short cuts than develop young players

We were bloody fortunate of two things
One they were contracted and two their choice destinations were littered with early picks ,,,,doesn’t always work like that , eg houston,,,we were bloody lucky
