I never envisaged us going so tall. However I think our talls bring different skill sets, so overall we’ve ticked a lot of boxes. Trainor for example, could be a very good running option of hb
1 big hard at it kpf the other more a 3rd tall lead up type.
And then the perfect 2nd ruck/kpf.

Also realistically we have 3 drafts to fulfill all our list néeds, I am warming to Blairs strategy of getting the book ends in place, because talls always take longer.

This may've been mentioned already but v interesting to hear Sandy coach Rob Harding say Trainor has the capacity to be a tall wingman, inside mid, forward, lock down defender or the attacking intercept type.

Listened to a fair bit of harding and yet to hear him speak of another player with such versatility in this year's crop.

I was thinking what song could encapsulate what has transpired,

we had such a poor year on the field off the field and so many premiership players leaving with a lot of trade collateral that all coincided with Richmond receiving a treasure trove of first round picks in a year with a heavily laden talented draft.

Sure Blair did an amazing job even squeezing out a F1 for next year from a team that looks to be bottom four most likely but all these unhappy and painful events just culminated perfectly 2 years out from the next set of compromised drafts with the Tassie Devils becoming the next team into the league.

Just a note Black Box was an Italian club house band that ripped off another singers song but being Italian they miss heard right on time for ride on time. They eventually got the legal rights for the song after a contracted legal battle and their lead singer was a Caribbean model who lip synced they then copped it because the Milli Vanilli lip sync scandal broke any-who great song sounds like the Tigers ride on time after a tumultuous short term history and then our draft bonanza.

I'm glad to get Norf's F1, but the trade wasn't that much in our favour, it's a win, but not a complete robbery
Based off 2025 points, Pick 27 & 32 (estimated) is worth around Pick 16, and in 2024 points it's worth Pick 12, so it's still a win for us as long as they don't click and make a finals push.

I'll tell you what might actually make this a massive win. We were expected by some draft watchers to take Alger at around the 23/24 mark right? ...but we traded pick 23 out and took Sims with the next pick. Is it possible that we had planned on taking both Sims and Alger with those two picks?

Who knows – but given our need for a small forward (and how highly we apparently rated Jasper) it’s very possible. At the very least we can safely say that we would’ve taken Alger if we’d slid back a few picks to the middle of Round 2.

It just strikes me that there is a very real possibility that we traded one of 23/24 to North for their F1 and still grabbed the two kids that we would have taken with those picks. If that’s what happened then this might be Blair’s finest hour!

its actually disrespectful to women to support a token female being thrown into the draft room to suit laura kanes woke agenda

I think it’s gross. If you need to diversify your recruiting team, then it should be organic, you provide mentoring and pathways for retired aflw players to learn the craft. Not mandate a female of some sort sit in the room.
