Can really see the Boak comparison in terms of hard running ability. Also noted the desire he has to keep the ball moving quickly. Yes, that's largely game plan based, however from the highlights, he shows the smarts to make the right play in that situation, and to use that hard running to really run the lines and create those link ups while under pressure. This to me, makes me feel he could work well in our current on ball brigade around stoppages.

Watching this year's grand final you could see how Brisbane's hard running game plan pulled Sydney apart. That's what we need to transition to from the 'Give it to Houston and get him to hit a target' game plan.

As someone mentioned yesterday, with Moraes, Sinn, Berry, Lorenz for example we are building a core of young players who can run hard and fast up and down the ground.

AFL draft 2024: Three prospects on what it’s like being a slider in the AFL draft

For every bolter in the draft, someone has to slide back the other way. DAN BATTEN speaks to three prospects about final year challenges and their mission to prove the doubters wrong. November 14, 2024

By his own admission, Christian Moraes didn’t have a great year.

“(This year has) been hard, I think it took some adjusting. There is a lot of changes between your bottom-age year and your top-age year that people don’t account for,” a candid Moraes said. “There’s the pressure, but you’re going in and out of sides a lot. I think that is the one thing I didn’t get accustomed to enough. “Whereas last year I played the whole season for the Ranges, I didn’t play a single game for any other team. So you kind of put all your energy in the one spot. “But yeah, it’s a part of your draft year.

“Obviously I haven’t had a great year, but I’m confident that hopefully I can get back in form next season and give my everything to, if I get picked, whatever club picks me.

"Moraes is no stranger to performing on the big stage given he played state basketball until he was 16, and he has found shooting hoops to be therapeutic throughout his draft year."

It's too hot for pizza pie followed by a snifter of cognac.
It's never too hot for either.

I am though currently thinking about peeling off my skin as I wilt in the gymnasium with dodgy aircon and tweens who really need to rethink their hygiene choices. No I am not the pe teacher it is my classroom while construction is going on. Yay me.

I am dreaming about a chilled glass of champagne ... do i have to finish the day of work before i have it?

Wonder if he's got a Greek background. Doesn't seem like a typical Greek surname but can't think what other nationality it would be.
It's already been posted that his father is Brazilian and his family name is Portuguese.
