Only if your list management are weakasses

Too right there, we pandered to Houston's desires and got nothing back in return other than a shellacking he gave us when the return game occurred. Its professional football for fcku sake!

Also, there should be transfer fees between clubs if footballers chose to bail out of contracts. Those transfer fees should count towards your salary cap too.

They were top 2 last year too from memory?
If not that they were definitely 2nd in transition scoring from the back half which is usually a good measure of pace of play.
We were the 2nd best side scoring in transition and the best from scoring chains starting at half back (not hard to recognise why)

Now, can you blokes roll over against us. There are bunnies and then there is the Saints for you blokes.

Just buck the trend. Roll over on your home turf. Let the young saints win and you’ll be free of Kenny before you know it.

🙏

The problem being Ross conspiring against us.

I would trust the Hawks/GWS/Suns to do the job but I don’t trust the saints yet.

Yet there was so many on the board here that said we should play Soldo.
there are so many on here that think every young player is gonna be a champion based on nothing, they are the ones that salivate over players like lochie jones, todd marshall, ollie lord etc, true there is a potential but there also a whole lot of fluff that people cant seem to seperate, and then they wonder why they stagnate after 20 or 30 games. i call it JMP Syndrome

Additionally this desire to be the 'nice guys' at the trade table, has put us in a position where our other players feel much more comfortable leaving us as well.

It's all well and good to try and take on a new level of professionalism around this player movement, but if we're the only club making it easy then we're just disadvantaging ourselves.

Until the league allows players to be traded without consent, we need to be tougher, not softer.

Lord, Mitch and Finlayson should all be playing forward for structure.
Agreed, we need 3 talls forward. It's unfortunate we've been hit by injuries, but the smalls fleet doesn't work and is putting way too much pressure on MG.

It also doesn't make any sense in what's clearly a non-finals development year. Give the smalls who are there a better structure around them, and don't completely cook Sweet (and Wines) by mid-season in the ruck by not having any other support.

We're ultimately sticking with bomb and hope when the heat is on. The target player shouldn't be Tom Cochrane versus 2 opponents in his first quarter of AFL.

I was one of them. I thought he was very good in first half of last season before his injury but he was playing first ruck then. I thought it was worth a try playing him as a forward & backup ruck but he was so far off the pace it's just unworkable.
I feel Dante offers more as the hybrid fwd/pinch hitting ruck. Gone are the days of having a big bollard at full forward who can't run/chase or compete at ground level. Even Dixon was decent at ground level (when his ankles weren't playing up) - but Soldo is on another level of bollard.

Ross will most probably use his normal defense mode trying to make the game as low scoring and crappy as possible.
He’s very good at organizing a team to play a good defense game but that’s it.
We don’t really play like that at all.

We have kicked 35 goals in the last 2 weeks for instance.

You may have not watched Stkilda at all the last two weeks.

For 3 years we have been recruiting to be fast and attacking.

This is meant to be how we play now.

Though first week we did not turn up in Adelaide. So we will have to wait and see if it is hard working StKilda you get or the lazy version that played the Crows.

In our last 9 games we've averaged 94 points per game including a game we only scored 39 points against the Lions.

I would say recent form suggest we're not a defensive team anymore.

I've heard of throwing the baby out with the bathwater but this post is something else.

Lord done apparently. Play kids who haven't earned a game for the rest of the season no questions asked. Jesus Christ.
Unless we are in a premiership window, there's no reason to keep it the way it is. We learn more about them at AFL level than at our shit SANFL team. This is the best way to fast track development for them.

Never rated Lord, so that thought hasn't changed for me. Tbf to him we really messed up his development and it's cost him. He'll go to Geelong and become a decent player but won't get anywhere at Port
