They actually live in West Footscray (maybe yuppies lol). Does a club have to sit bottom of the second division they're whole lives or can they actually not pay a player for 4 years and save some cash and have a go at it? Or does the league have to revolve around clubs that just WRFL loves?

I agree with Andy well said. West have done it tough but keep competing. Good luck to them as a couple of decent players will definitely take you far in this division.
Always respected West as a club. Done it tough in that area with low standard facilities and a ground that’s not one of the best, but they keep going year after year. Lot of history though at West with some loyal people.

Probably getting a bit ahead of things there but they are a club that stayed up in first division when the div 2 premiers refused to go up.

So whilst I commend them for doing so, they arent recruiting blokes like this to Not win the flag. So on that basis, hopefully they have a sustainable plan to progress.

I think he’s referring to Kent Kingsley, who ironically did play for free, was an absolute ripper of a bloke and actually forked out of his own pocket for the whole teams pre season training kit the next season.
Don’t think money was a real big issue for Kent.
