Round 21 produced some pretty good scores with four being popular across the tipping group for the week. The top tipsters for the round though were samFFC and masai who both tipped the card this week while samFFC also picked up the bonus point to finish with a bumper score of six for the round.

After 21 rounds, getgaff remains in the lead on 67 points, samFFC now holds outright second and is just one point behind on 66 points while Falconista has hold of third place with 64 points.

Round 22 Fixtures

Claremont vs Swan Districts at Revo Fitness Stadium (2:10pm, margin)
Peel Thunder vs Subiaco at David Grays Arena (2:10pm)
Perth vs West Perth at Mineral Resources Park (2:10pm)
South Fremantle vs West Coast Eagles at Fremantle Community Bank Oval (2:10pm)
Bye: East Fremantle, East Perth

Well, Round 22 is here which is the last round of the season after the adjustment to the revised fixture. There's four games this week, all on Saturday at 2:10pm with East Fremantle and East Perth having the bye, their seasons are finished although their Colts' sides play on Saturday and will also play finals.

Peel Thunder meet Subiaco at David Grays Arena in Mandurah in the second match of the round. Peel Thunder posted a good win over Perth last week after a very slow start in which they gave up seven goals and kicked just one. However, the Thunder kicked 15 of the next 18 goals to register a solid win and push up to seventh on the ladder. Subiaco faced East Perth in Round 21 and started quite strongly, holding a five goal lead at half time only for East Perth to hang around in the second half. The Royals did threaten the Lions but Subiaco did enough to stay in front and came away with a 14 point victory. The Thunder can't play finals nor move up the ladder higher than seventh but will be hoping to finish the season with a win against the Lions who have hold of top spot and will be looking to consolidate that in the final round. Both sides having enjoyed a good rivalry in recent seasons in what should be a good game.

Perth host West Perth at Mineral Resources Park in the round's next match. Perth had a great start against Peel Thunder, booting seven goals to one to hold a 37 point lead at quarter time. Unfortunately things didn't fare well for the Demons after that, kicking just 0.2 in the next two quarters as they eventually fell to a 43 point loss in what was a topsy-turvy day for the Dees. West Perth came up against East Fremantle last week, going in warm favourites but were outplayed by the Sharks with poor kicking for goal also a factor in booting a very errant 9.23 on the day. The Falcons had nine more scoring shots and 13 more inside 50's than their opponents but lost by 46 points which severely dented their hopes of a top two and even a top three finish. This game will be about different outcomes for either club, Perth are playing for pride with a win to see them avoid the wooden spoon while West Perth must win and hope results above them fall their way if they want to secure a double chance in week one of the finals.

South Fremantle take on West Coast Eagles at Fremantle Community Bank Oval in the round's last fixture. South Fremantle eked out a narrow five point win over Swan Districts last week despite being the dominant side for most of the day and kicking one less goal than Swans. The win maintained the Bulldogs' hold on second spot, placing them ahead of Claremont on percentage, something they'll be keen to boost as they face West Coast Eagles this week. The Eagles did not have a great day against the Tigers, giving up 8.5 in the first term to just 0.4 with things only getting worse from there as Claremont extended their lead at every change to win by 96 points. With the Eagles on the bottom of the ladder, a win over Souths may see them avoid the wooden spoon and with several AFL listed players set to play, they'll be keen to put on a good show in their last game of the season.

Unfortunately there is no TV game again this week so the margin match for Round 22 is the match up between Claremont and Swan Districts at Revo Fitness Stadium in Claremont. Claremont registered a very strong win in the last round, defeating the West Coast Eagles' WAFL side by 96 points, helped by an eight goal to none opening term. The win pushed Claremont's percentage to 126.82%, just 0.39% adrift of South Fremantle who are equal with Claremont on 12 wins. A big enough win for Claremont could push them ahead of South Fremantle should the Bulldogs lose or post a smaller win against their opponent in the Eagles so it's a pretty big game for the Tigers this week. Meanwhile, Swan Districts put up a good fight last week against South Fremantle and almost came away with the win despite Souths dominating for much of the game, going down by five points. This week will be another test for Swans coming up against South Fremantle, it's possible that a win for Swans might push them into fourth place if West Perth lose their match on Saturday but for now, this game's a tune up for the elimination final they'll be playing in next week.

Not much change in the Reserves and Colts this week with all matches scheduled to begin at 11:40am and 9:10am respectively. East Perth also host East Fremantle as they face off at 12:10pm at Leederville Oval to complete the round's fixtures in the Colts.

The weather this Saturday is looking fairly promising with a mostly sunny day and 19 degrees expected during the day. It'll be a cold start though with five degrees predicted for the morning so it'll be jacket and/or jumper weather if you're around for the games in the morning.

It's the last round and plenty to play for this week as the top five jostle for position in the final game of the season. The minor premiership is undecided while the combatants in the qualifying final and elimination final next week are also yet to be determined so the final round is going to be very interesting viewing. Happy tipping!!
