What is going to happen to our great WAFL Clubs if we keep losing players, I believe draft age should be 20 eg East Perth we have lost genuine or upcoming champions last few years, one already has broken down Jye amiss, picked too young, and now. We, are going to lose busslinger who like Tunstall will spend a year or half in VFL, when they could be at royals learning their craft, how can we win a flag like that

No money for players to the club.

East Fremantle has about 25 players in the AFL
Yeah and how big is East Fremantle's zone and East Fremantle are finally having a good year after many years down the bottom or near it, you will notice clubs with big zones go well, namely Claremont East Fremantle,

How many kids get picked in draft work it out how many at the moment, are languishing in the VFL when they could be helping their state team towards a premiership, no draft age should be twenty

unfortunately WAFL/ SANFL are no longer leagues that carry value

This thread suggests they got cash in 2015 at least, not sure about now.

This changed a few years ago

East Fremantle hasn't won a premiership this century, been last or close to last for some time

The money for players stopped when the AFL took over the development process in each state abt 5 years ago. The clubs have now got the colts and development process back but the money still goes to the commission and forms part of the distribution to the WAFL clubs. As for the age, this has long been a bone of contention and for some players it would be better for them to have an older age limit but for others they are more than capable of player at AFL level pretty well straight away - Tunstill, Amiss (his injury was in the WAFL and is an unusual one) and Starcevich from EP were quite able to play senior football. As for the comment abt the SANFL and WAFL losing their relevance, sorry but just look at the football being played by most teams, the number of players being drafted in the mid season draft and the decision to stream the games, I think the relevance is increasing.

Harry Taylor and Andrew Swallow were not drafted the first year they were eligible.
