Great to see the website kicking off again... Kent Wooding to coach Nyah, sure? heard that he was retiring. Was hoping him and mustards wouldnt be playing together again..

We havent recieved anything from Grant yet, so Dan cant be definetely playing for tooleybuc. I hope he does play, be good to lift the standard, give the comp a shake up and watch him take the cup back to tooleybuc along with every trophy possible...

Any word on RSL, NYAH, TUFF, STM, NULL captaincy appointments???

would be guessing WOOR, TOOL & SH are definetes

Todd Brown is doing the TUFF job again. Doesn't matter who does the St Mary's job coz Jed will just tell them what to do anyway!!

Good to see Todd do it again, heard he wasnt going to. Type of bloke they need in charge. They should have much the same side once again

so steickerocks, does this mean u are leaving tigerland??

Would be good to see the blues field three sides, would that mean travvy benham would drop back another grade???

Any other recruiting goss around town.

Would say that SH, although finals last season, will be stronger again with hatcher staying, and return off cruickshank, & possibility of poms

Any news on Nyah coach?

Heard that Footy tripper (if its who i think it is) may be taking on a coaching role this season.

Not too sure if I am who you think I am Telstra, but am keen to hear who you thought I maybe coaching this year!! Do cricket coaches have to go to training, coz if they do then I wouldn't be the man.

Al Ward apparently not happy with the appointment. Thought that he should have been given the job. Reckons that he would have got them the flag last year if he was in charge. Bit of niggle at TUFF!!!

Roota#6. what is the process of a cricket club appointing a new coach? Do the current players do it or is there a committe who decides who sits at the thrown.

Differs at most clubs. At RSL this year a group of players got together and got a list of names together then went and approached those guys. Other clubs it is done at a comittee level.

Word on the street is Warren Haymes is a strong chance to return to RSL to take on the coaching job, with the Cole brothers to get weekend release from their prison farm to be joint assistants ??

News from Swan Hill Cricket Club -- Exciting things are planned for the season ahead for the Swan Hill Cricket Club, and not just on the field. The club has contributed a significant amount of funds towards the extension of the change rooms at the Swan Hill oval in a joint venture with the Swan Hill Football/Netball Club and the Swan Hill Rural City Council. The extended change rooms will now allow the club to persue their dream of hosting a First Class game at the oval in the not too distant future.

In addition to this project, the club has a number of other projects they are undertaking this season in an effort to provide players at the club with the best possible facilities within the Region.

(1) A synthetic wicket will be laid at the Swan Hill Primary School oval to at last give our Third XI a truely 'home' base. This project will be totally funded by the club but the club is extremely appreciative of the co-operation given by the school in allowing us to utilise their exisiting amendities and facilities which will allow cricket to be played at the venue.

(2) An upgrade of the practice nets at the Swan Hill Oval, including additional concreting and the inclusion of softening material on the bowlers run ups to lessen the chance of injuries.

(3) The purchase of a Bola Pro bowling machine, the same model as recently installed at the new MCG indoor facilities. This machine is the best of its kind in the world will provide coaches at all levels a tool to improve players techniques.

We trust that all these projects will further enhance our position as a leader in country Victoria both on and off the field.

Big news to maybe come out of a certain clubs AGM tonight regarding the appointment of its Captain/Coach, could be a shock to local cricket fans

You make a good point Roosta.

Can definitely comfirm that one Cain Barry is the new captain/coach of the Nyah District Cricket Club. B and C grade leaders are yet to be appointed. Notice that Mystic Park trump card Adam Bennett has been cleared to Nyah and is now a new member on their committee.....The hard-hitting Sean Bedggood to lead Mystic in 2006/07.
