Alarm bells for me when he said at the beginning of the season that we didn’t need to change anything because we know what works. The thing is, when you are on top, everyone wants to figure out how to beat you. If you stand still, it’s only a matter of time before others catch and overtake.
Agreed
Teams saw what the Bulldogs did last year
And Melbourne copied it, Richmond copied it, St Kilda copied.
Brisbane went another way, but still have some elements in it.

So we need to adapt to get back to the top.

Not hard today but Niamh Kelly’s been the team’s best
Amazing considering after her first game I didn't want to see her again.
Probably had no clue what her role was that day.

St Kilda timekeepers playing funny buggers at the end of that quarter
Timekeepers in the AFL are neutral.
I know one of the 2 timekeepers at Adelaide Oval's early days was an ex SANFL (And maybe early 90s) Goal Umpire.

Though, there was one incident in the 1st (or 2nd) quarter which confused me.

Lasoo rule free. Stopped clock. But then FU consults with BU. Gives ball back to the player. And calls time off. Clock then runs. But, for that incident, the clock shouldn't run. Lost about 4 seconds that quarter.
