Are u for real?, useless post. Oh, you're a macedon player.....makes sense:(
the man was just making a point SPRECHEN and if the redbacks were to kick straighter:thumbsu: maybe 80%...... the games all would have been really massive blow outs... going along very very nicely bit harsh i think SPRECHEN it was just a comment and a good one at that:thumbsdown:

Re: RDFL Thread 2011 (Part 1)

Good point Bomba 26. Just had a quick look through this years results, and Romsey have kicked 122 goals and 101 behinds and assume 10 -12 out on the full. That's an average of 20g 17b and 2 on the full per game.

Maybe Pedo and co. should get the forwards to spend some time in front of goals on Tuesdays and Thursdays to get that conversion rate up a touch.

An extra 5 goals per week wouldn't be a bad average??
Yep. on a great day for footy at Macedon, it could have got very very ugly, Macedon did'nt even look like beating the Redbacks, Davo kicking a lazy 4 goals, obviously having an off day, poor fella, god help yers when he gets his eye in. Riddel, or maybe the Kangas might prove to be a better challenge. Game of the round, i think not.

Re: RDFL Thread 2011 (Part 1)

That's a serious thrashing 30 shots to 8, looks like if Romsey kicked a bit straighter it could have been uglier for Macedon.

I went along to this game expecting to see a good contest from 2 undefeated ladder leading sides. What I and the capacity crowd got was a one sided flogging. Macedon just did not fire a shot. Romsey were good, very good, but its easy to play like that when your oppossition are consistantly second to the ball, appear scared of any physical contest and seem confused about what type of game plan (if any) their coach's are trying to use. Romsey I think are definitly the real deal & once again Macedon are pretenders.
And is it just me or do Macedon seem to get a dream run with the umpires at home or what ???

Romsey are the real deal, forget all this nonsense about hosing it down any longer and putting them behind Sunbury and Riddell. Surely they bat deeper than any other side running around, especially when you see guys you'd think are say ranked 16-22 doing it as good as the supposed "guns". Macedon had em covered for height so when they adjusted at qtr time and started to run and handball more there was a real entertaining block of 15 mis where the Redbacks looked awesome.

I left when it got to 7 goals early in the 3rd and landed at Woodend with the Hawks one point up. Really enjoyed the last quarter as two sides slugged it out with the Magpies getting up just. Cornish, Collis, Galea important late for Wallan as were Regan and S.Bell down back.

Re: RDFL Thread 2011 (Part 1)

I just checked the Reserves match from Romsey and Macedon yesterday for no reason and found this...

Macedon: 6.9 (45)
Romsey: 4.16 (40)

If only Romsey had kicked straighter...

And I found that it was actually a fine day up at Macedon. No rain at all. Yet somehow a total of 10.25 is kicked in fine weather.

Re: RDFL Thread 2011 (Part 1)

What was the selection criteria for this game? Ballarat had TAC cup players from the rebels run out for them - that's not in the spirit of it I wouldve thought.

Not 100% but I had an enquiry two-days prior to the first training run to see if I'd be interested in helping out the appointed coach. From what I can gather (correct me if Im wrong anyone) but there was an initial list of around 60 players made up from all clubs. Two training runs and watching U/18s and senior matches was all I could go off as I wasn't all that familiar with a lot of the boys involved. Some players declined the opportunity which is entirely up to them and some clubs didnt notify players invited in time for training session 1. After all that last Sunday night we selected our team to play at Ballarat last week.

Ballarat i thought were extremely well drilled, clean with their hands had obvioulsy spent a lot more than time than us together in the lead in. I'm sure those lads who represented the RDFL last week now know the rise in standard, speed, tempo etc. required at such level and will be better for it come game 2.

In my opinion it aint about wins/losses, surely it's about experience and opportunity. If the program helps any of these boys in their footy at club level or results in an invite elsewhere for 2012 then it's been a winner.

Hosing what down mate

The boys are travelling well, we are really pleased with the performance on the weekend but there are still several areas that we can improve, the side is still a way from it's best, but there are definite positives from our performances so far, it is just about continuing to develop the set up of the side and ensuring that we continue to see that improvement over the rest of the season. No point worrying about who is or isn't favorite right now, because you know as well as I do, if you aint there on that final weekend, being favorite in May means sweet FA....

 Now that's a frightening thought for the rest of the comp - and yes I very much realise the Melbourne Cup is run over two miles and a lot can happen between the barriers and the winning post ;)

See ya Wednesday night :thumbsu:

Great send off for past President of the Wallan FC Mr Graeme Bruce yesterday, All the Wallan players decked out in Black & White, was great show of respect for Graeme who was a huge contibuter to the club and Jenny who still cooks for the boys on a Thursday night. Was great to see the team from the 90's and the present all together.
RIP Graeme.

No point worrying about who is or isn't favorite right now,

???????? Then how come u have mentioned several times that the Kangas are red hot favourites if it doesnt mean anything????
We all know who has the best list( by miles) so probably no need to continue the constant hose down. You opened the door for it, thats why people are jumping on it now:eek:

wow

Yeah Leigh will be great for the Redbacks . Leigh should slot in very nicely along Shannon Green who has to be in career best form at the moment. Leighs skill and hardness will be an asset to the club no matter what position he plays. Top get by the Redbacks.:D

Just because I have mentioned it, I never said it meant anything that they were, only that they would have been considered so, and rightly so.. But as your assistant coach has told many a person, I know stuff all anyways, so doesn't matter what I say :D

Im still not entirely certain what I have hosed down? But anyways, I am also not sure what door I opened, but as far as I am concerned, people can rate the Redbacks where ever they like, and however they like, you can call us the raging favorites or the pretenders, I am sure that slyone will support me, the fact is, our sole concentration is on improving the areas that require improving and continuing to work on the things that will make the Romsey FC a better side, in all areas, the only thing that matters is what people say about us come the 25th September at around 5.00pm. Everything before that is simply part of the journey.

Lol... Nice :D

Admitting Romsey will be there.. Sheez, if I knew that, we wouldn't have to go through the other 15 weeks before it... But are the Redbacks capable, absolutely... But thats nothing new that I should have that opinion, there are quite a few other sides that should be thinking the exact same thing, you included.. That's the aim isn't it??

Time for a new market.

Romsey - $1.80 - super team with a great list. Look at their bottom 6 each week to show the full strength of this team. Fav now with some big games to come could shorten even further.

Sunbury - $2.20 - have some out and out stars - may firm if James has no case to answer. With Leigh joining Romsey the chance of a McInerney with a premiership medal is very good.

Riddell - $2.80 - need some lucky with injuries. Still they know how to win a flag and should not be discounted. Sunbury may have exposed some
weaknesses. Still with a couple to come back in should be there towards the end of the year.

Diggers - $7.00 - must be careful with Diggers - they showed against Sunbury they can mix it with the best on the day. Finals specialists!

Macedon - $12.00 - good half win against Riddell but recieved a decent smacking against flag fav Romsey. Another one next week against Sunbury and the betting for the Cats will drift right out.

Write your own ticket for the the rest!

At $7.00  I'll have a Hungey on Diggers. Going along very nicely thank you very much ! & you can always excuse a rusty first up performance at the start of the season.
Oh & while you are playing bookie how about giving me a price for Rockbank making the top six...... & Grand Final.... & Premiership please ? Very very impressed with their work ethic this season, & once they learn how to play a game right out till the end against any & all opposition they will be right up there with all the other contenders for the big prize this year !

Believe in yourself Rams boys, you aint that far away !!! :thumbsu:

joeblow or anyone... just what is happening with 1 JOHN BAKER:thumbsdown: in the last 10 weeks or so he played for ROMSEY in a practice match then went to LANCEFIELD, MARIBYRNONG PARK, KANGAROOS, NUMURKAH, then he approached ROMSEY to which he had a big payout sum to be released from NUMURKAH, ROMSEY said no:thumbsu:then went to fitzy and co over at GISBORNE and then ends up with LANCEFIELD paying the release sum to go back there, then did not play for LANCEFIELD against ROMSEY because we were told he was too frightened, and now on the RDFL web site i see he is heading to the KANGAROOS again.... especially with all that went on at the start of the year with him and the KANGAS and the bad blood maybe mongel you can enlighten us all... hope your not going soft in your old age mongrel ;)The kid definitely has talent but he needs to get his head right buddy?? hopefully he can play some good footy for you blokes but not against my MIGHTY TIGERS;)

Congrats to the three RDFL boys in making the Vic Metor Under 18 Squad Tom Sheridan (Rid) , Lauchie Plowman and Dan Markworth (Mac).

Congratulations to all three of these kids.. What a fantastic effort.. :thumbsu:

Yes Johny Baker has been a busy boy to say the least. Unfortunately when a player gets caught up in the washing machine and bounces from club to club, eventually their presence becomes less and less warranted.
The guy has loads of talent and needs to find a club he can call home.
Whether he finds that at Sunbury only time will tell. But we will give that opportunity and the support he needs to hopefully find his feet again.

We did however tell him that we want him to front lancefield in person first and explain his situation and reasons for leaving before we will entertain him playing for us. When a player leaves a club or several clubs(ha ha ha) without notifying them and giving them reasons why, they never leave with a clean slate. Hopefully John will get the opportunity with a clean slate at the Kangas and play sum decent footy. Because i wouldnt imagine their would be too many doors left ajar for him
