"A Million Miles Away"

Watched this true story depiction last night ....of the first Mexican Astronaut, who came from a crop picking background
Great movie, uplifting, battling against the odds to realise a dream

It's a low budget movie, with Michael Pena in the lead ....and Rosa Salazar, the lead actress from "Alita, Battle Angel"

Throughout the movie, I held the belief Pena was miscast, as he's certainly in puddin shape .....until at the end of the movie, seeing the real life astronaut, who was similarly shaped

Great entertainment 7/10

Forgot about this gem ....."Dungeons and Dragons Honor Among Thieves 2023"

Had very low expectation of this movie, but as an action comedy ....it was a very enjoyable movie

Chris Pine and Michelle Rodriguez carry the movie .....and of course Hugh Grant continuing to play the same lovable rogue, as in "The Gentlemen" and "Operation Fortune"

I can highly recommend ..... 8/10

Watched it last night on Fox. I agree with your comments. Long way from Emmy stuff but I enjoyed it.
Poor Hugh Grant . What might have been of his career. :(

This was really good fun, watched it a few times now

Movie Air is well worth a watch. Great cast and dialogue

The movie explores how Nike's basketball shoe division was struggling in 1984 due to low sales, and how the company's Marketing VP Rob Strasser and CEO Phil Knight tasked basketball talent scout Sonny Vaccaro to find a new spokesperson for their shoes. Although they considered third draft pick Michael Jordan off limits due to his preference for Adidas and Converse, Vaccaro convinced them that Jordan was a generational talent, and that Nike should pursue him and try to convince Jordan to sign with Nike.

Was a little disappointed with this, found it a bit boring.

Just trying to finish it. Agree though, enjoyable movie to watch.

Good little sleeper movie, I hadn't heard about ....."Lucky Number Slevin"

Huge cast !! ....lots of twists and turns, a bit light hearted initially, with a great climatic finish .....4 star IMDB is appropriate IMO

Decent film with a bad title. The weird thing is the movie was actually called "The Wrong Man" in Australia, which is somehow even worse than it's original title.

I've been meaning to watch this. Heard good things. Marketing must have been pretty poor for this one. I don't remember ever seeing a trailer or ad for it.

Stuff I've been watching lately

The Killer 👎👎
The Creator 👎
Rebel Moon Part One 👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎
The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes 👍
Dumb Money 👍
Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse 👍👍👍👍👍
The Holdovers 👍👍👍
Saltburn 👍👍👍👍👍
Saltburn just seems weird .....not even going to bother watching Rebel Moon after all the reviews

Dumb Money, is on my watch list for tonight

Watched “No One Lives” (2013) last night .....this review sums the movie up perfectly ....Luke Evans hiding in the cadaver he's just killed was an interesting twist .....was he the devil, or just a psychopath ?

“No One Lives” (2013) is a gory, dark, even evil film flooded with people dumb as 2X4s who obviously cannot think or speak without using the F-Word all too many times.

I say evil only because there isn’t a character in the storyline who offers any other desire than to kill someone.

And the principal caretaker/drawer of blood — played by Luke Evans as the cool, calm, and clever killer — is supposedly something of a would-be good guy at the film’s start, only to discover he’s actually a sadistic kidnapper and knife-wielding devil incarnate who enjoys controlling and abusing women.

WaynesWorld19 - Sick of the garbage on stan, Netflix etc so I've started to download Oscar nominated movies every year from the 50's to 70's. Any movies you can recommend from the aforementioned period that weren't nominated? I'm a big fan of 70's movies.

Anyone seen Poor things?

Loved it! Best film I've seen for a while. It's a bizarre film especially at first. Would give children nightmares imo. If you like weird and funny movies this one's for you (think the lobster). Stone, Dafoe and Ruffalo are all great. I wish more films were this original and wacky.
