Rooney is now a liability and Mou has to have the balls to drop him, he was putrid last night and was a main reason why our attack failed, he needs to be swapped for Miki and we need to allow Miki to be a creative 10 otherwise it's a waste.

And although starting the season well we can't continue to play Fellaini, he is a negative impact to Pogba, Pogba needs to have the freedom to move forward without having Fellaini doing the same thing, Schneiderlin, Carrick, Basti or Ander, one of those needs to partner Pogba in a defensive position in the midfield two, probably Schneiderlin.

I don't mind the front three of Martial, Ibra and Rashford but it fails if we have no one creative sitting behind.

Make the call Mou, bench Rooney and Fellaini for the good of the team.

That's the way I see it.

Rooney is a shit passer of the ball. Zlatan is anchored as a striker.
Co ntrolling and creating with the ball is an issue

We don't press up enough into our opponents either, watching the game last night, when we had the ball their players were at us, pressure, pressure, pressure.

When they got it, we were staying back, allowing them to make passes. Their lead up to the 2nd goal was one of the worst defensive efforts I've ever seen, absolutely deplorable.

He's cooked, and he's not going to admit it so the call has to be made for him.

He is done at this level. MLS or China for you rooney, thanks for the journey but the times up.

So now we all agree that Rooney is gash?

about time

He's been horrible for at least the last 3 years, but I agree, it took some people longer than others to realise that. I am on another forum and every time I'd say Rooney is useless, a couple United supporters would accuse me of singling him out because in their minds it wasn't like Rooney was the only player not stepping up. But he is the only player that I can comfortably say if he gets dropped for someone else (Mkhitaryan) it will change the entire shape of our team and we will have the best chance to score goals. Now, whenever the ball is at his feet it's worrying. It's like watching a Sunday League player playing English Premier League football. He's gone from being one of the best in the league to one of the worse and that's not an exaggeration.

There are whispers that Rooney leaked information to the media regarding Mou's treatment of players after the last couple of defeats.
Whoever it was, they are piling on more shit and unnecessary pressure.

I hope Mou has been lashing the players, Rooney deserves a dressing down. Several other players simply have not been up to scratch since the City game.

The whole Rooney thing has made me wonder if he ever really reached the great heights many had thought he would after his amazing debut as a 16/17 yo.

"Rooney is the biggest England talent I've seen since I arrived in England. There has certainly not been a player under 20 as good as him since I became a manager here."
Arsène Wenger on Rooney following his last-minute goal against Arsenal in October 2002.

I then started to think about United...and would we even put him into a best 11 of the EPL era...which brings me to the good part...

Lets put together our best 11 of the EPL era.

Below is a a list players in positions - GK, FB's, CB's Mids, Wingers and Strikers

Post your best 11.

I will collate the player choices giving them a vote per selection and put together the "United Thread Best 11 of the EPL Era".

GoalKeepers - Edwin Van Der Sar, David De Gea, Peter Schmeichel, Fabian Bartez, Tim Howard
LFB's - Phil Neville, Patrice Evra, Dennis Irwin, Michael Silvestre, Gabriel Heinze
RB's - Gary Neville, Paul Parker, Rafael
CB's - Gary Pallister, Steve Bruce, Rio Ferdinand, Jaap Stam, Nemanja Vidic

To keep the collation process easy can we stick to a standard 4-4-2 formation.

Tag me in your posted team so I can make note of your 11.

My Best United 11.

GK -DDG. Just a brilliant keeper who has had plenty of work to do compared to other keepers in the EPL era. While he won't win as many trophies given the side he has in front of him he is the best I have seen. Controversial yes given the Great Danes effort but i think this guy is outstanding!

LB - Dennis Irwin. Tough defender, great going forward, great pen taker and free kick specialist.

RB - Gary Neville. Tough as nails and has United in his veins. Terrific when running down the wing and whipping a low ball into the box.

CB - Jaap Stam. Solid as rock and one of SAF's biggest blunders letting him go. Courageous and had many strikers shitting their pants as he came at them.

CB - Nemanja Vidic. Just got the job done week in week out. Uncompromising gutsy defender and while you think the balance with he and Stam in the heart of defence is questionable there is no denying they would be scary a hell partnered together.

Wing - Cristiano Ronaldo. Enough said.

Wing - Ryan Giggs. My all time favourite player. Just watch that goal against Arsenal in the FA Cup replay of our Treble year.

CM - Roy Keane. Oh how we miss an enforcer. Hard box to box runner who took no prisoners.

CM - Paul Scholes. Arguably the best mid we have ever had with many of his peers stating he was the best of his time. Great passer, great shot at goal (shit tackler...he knew what he was doing)...Paul Scholes scores GOALS!

Striker - Eric Cantona. Absolute Legend and the man who was the final piece in the puzzle for Fergie. Scored many a vital goal and could conjure something out of nothing.

Striker - Van Nistelrooy. The ultimate goal machine. Goal ratio was incredible and the best poacher you could ever find in a Red shirt. I might be right in saying he never scored a goal outside of the 18 yard box (even if the goal v Spurs he started his run around the half way line)

David De Gea
Gary Neville - Jaap Stam - Nemanja Vidic - Dennis Irwin
Cristiano Ronaldo - Roy Keane - Paul Scholes - Ryan Giggs
Eric Cantona - Ruud Van Nistelrooy

So yeah, with Rooney playing the entire game this morning, i think it's very unlikely we'll see him in the starting 11 against Leicester thank God. Rashford, Mata/Miki and Martial/Young should be starting behing Ibra. Rashford has 3 goals in 6 appearances and a couple of assists as well i believe. He deserves to start, no questions asked.

Yep many will go The Great Dane. Was a colossus and had a terrific side in front of him winning trophy after trophy and Robson was a gun.
Loved RVN, but I reckon a Van Persie/Cantona combo would have been interesting.
