So CJ gets a scan after training and it’s a minor quad strain.

Whereas Breust plays 3 games straight (and looks off) and then we discover he has been carrying a groin all the time.

Why do a scan for some and not others?
Perhaps because one is durable and the other is not

It's clear CJ injury has been known since Friday. He has had scans since then and we would know the outcome of those scans already.

Other clubs disseminate info to journalists all the time prior to injury report.
Why do supporters need to know the second it happens? The club's priority when a player is injured is the player, their rehab, and how it affects the club and team.

Besides, there are a heap of variables that need to be accounted for. Scan might show an injury, but can they still play with that injury? If it's minor, we don't want that info in the public sphere always as an opposition team can exploit it. Figuring that out takes time. What does rehab look like? Is it a 2 week injury or 8 week injury? Does the player want it out there? Sometimes things are kept in house because it's an ongoing issue the player has and they don't want the opposition to know about it, or it might have some bigger impacts (ie their contract and triggers, etc). Sometimes it's a tweak of something they've been carrying for a year or so and they can play with it with painkillers, etc.

It's not all black and white...

I do love members who think they should be the first contacted regarding every function of the club. CJ's injury being declared on Friday or Monday does what exactly to your support of the club?

Day and Chad(Box Hill) back.
Lewis a test.
Wiz a couple of weeks away.
CJ able to train, but not kick on the leg with the minor quad strain.

Reckon only Day comes in. Lewis is a slow burn. Breust, Watson and Chad in the next two weeks. The current 23 better perform well or face the threat of getting cut.

Hopefully Chad and Watson have to force their way into a side that continues to do well. Lewis is an automatic selection when fit, as is Breust... for now.

Think it will be more than a couple of games at BHH for Chad, perhaps Watson too, before being in consideration for seniors.

Is anyone else surprised Day's coming back through Hawthorn and not BH? Just seems a bit strange considering he hasn't played anything close to an AFL game since Round 23 last year.

Pretty sure it was mentioned that he’ll be on a minutes restriction for this week’s game. This is why I think Hustwaite should be the sub.

No, he’s been full on training for weeks in preparation to play a full game.
