Mrs. Weirdo and I give scores between 1 and 10 for players with 'the least worse moustaches' during game day. Players with goatees etc. cannot qualify. Unfortunately Carlton's best mo rarely plays.( probably a 7 )

Bring the pressure and it'll be a 50/50 game. We out pressured Melbourne and GWS for the majority of the game, and won. We didn't against Crows, Cats and Pies...and the result was reversed, we deserved to lose those games. Voss' job is simply to keep us on the boil, which isn't easy to sustain...

Rest him. Pitto's effectiveness tapers right off when he's not 100%. Can't carry any passengers this week, we don't have a good history vs. Sydney at home. I think we've won twice in 15 years.

VFL R7: Carlton v Casey, Friday 10th May, 5:10 PM @ Ikon (AFL livestream)

Didn't see this game, Binns BOG??? Prior to this I'd have thought that Wilson is the most likely fringe player to get an opportunity at AFL level, but not as a half back?

Autopsy 2024 Rd 9 Blues hold on in 1 point thriller

Any thoughts on Bozo Taylor's comments about Brody Kemp deliberately driving his own head into the turf to receive a free kick last night? Who would do such a stupid thing? I did think conversation about Owies mid tackle dive last week against the Pies was warranted though.

Gotta love Newy's psycho look of rolling his eyes and bobbling his head, our true hard-nut.

Exactly, if one was to reduce the entire game down to a couple of shots at goal at the end, then we were lucky to win, but that would be simplifying things ridiculously. We totally controlled 80% of this game , and thoroughly deserved the victory.

Forward tackles and overall ground pressure are about the only stats that matter. All the inside 50's and clearance dominance mean very little if our forward line is like a revolving door of opposition rebounds.

We've had the on field talent to win all of our past 4 games, we've been clearly beaten for 4 quarter pressure.(excluding GWS game) It'll be different tonight, seasons looking a bit shakey, expecting to take home the 4 points. No excuses.

Think Fanta's been given a few more chances to do his goal assisting than Dave.

The mid season draft begins on the 29th of this month, it wouldn't be a stretch for Carlton to be 9th place by then. If so, which clubs have a list vacancy before us?

Kemp for Williams even if he's fine, but he's obviously one of the favourites. They might think it's bad for morale to have 1 player in the reserves being paid more than the entire team.

I think it's too risky to introduce 3 LTI's with zero match conditioning(Marchy, Gov and Martin) into the side this week against top line opponents after 3 losses in 4 weeks. ins. Gov, Martin outs. Young, Fanta sub. Cow

And he can adjust to his new position at half forward for a couple of weeks at VFL level. I'm amazed at how little our VFL side trials listed players in alternative positions, Lemmey seems to be one of the few exceptions. Great level to use Kemp further up the ground, but why try something...

Cunners, Eli and Boyd are our only players around the midfield that instinctively 'look' for a forward in a dangerous position. You can almost see the cogs turning inside their brains, Gov also. Walsh and Cripps are the worst offenders.

I reckon it's an example of being a bad loser to blame the loss of a sporting contest on a couple of incidents or lousy umpiring. Both supporter bases would view it differently, looking at our last game's entire replay in an unbiased way, Pies should have won fairly comfortably.

The final result after 2 hours involving hundreds of contests, decisions, collisions, errors, fatigue and probably another half dozen factors can never be broken down to a couple of 'moments'. Perhaps each quarter of the game can be.

I'd lean towards the TDK/Harry ruck combo, Pitto has been great for our clearance game(his 'grabs' and forward delivery are impressive)out of the centre bounces. Starts off like locomotive then tapers off as the game proceeds. It's the top heavy forward line with no pressure and reduction in...

Pies pressure had us on the ropes for 70% of the 3rd quarter, but incredibly we outscored them 3 goals to zip. They did miss 5 from 30-40 metres on easy angles(Elliott twice) though and Voss was going ballistic on the boundary line. They should have buried us in that quarter, but we survived.

Who are our elite midfield kickers that replace the need for legspeed? Everyone would agree about the luxury of great kicking, but unfortunately our midfield lacks both speed and good delivery, relies totally on inside grunt.

Autopsy 2024 Rd 8 Disappointing loss for Blues

The wins and losses are a side issue, we've been very fortunate to beat Lions, Tigers, Freo and unlucky to lose against Crows and Pies. We have a top 4 contending list that is 'thereabouts'', but still under performing. It's a coaching/tactical issue, can't rely entirely on good fortune to win a...

Collard would have been an astute selection if still available, electric, strong mark, great goal sense, with a bit of mongrel, think he's the type WalshistheGOAT is implying we lack. Not disappointed with the Moir selection either, X-factor hybrid forward was also a need, does he have the drive...

Autopsy 2024 Rd 8 Disappointing loss for Blues

He's recovering from severe knee bruising during pre-season, played okay for Sandy last week and will get another game this arvo before possible senior selection next week. It will still take awhile to settle in and gather confidence at a new club. I'd expect him to be a regular mid before the byes.

Thought Cunners was good in his first game back from a long break, those set up kicks to the Key Forwards were on their own worth his inclusion in the team. Charlie would have probably gone goaless without that level of delivery, Eli has similar traits. Gotta admit that I got it wrong with the...
