What would a Dutton Liberal leadership mean for the Liberals and the country?

What does he actually stand for? He flip flops daily …

When do we get the nuclear costing and plan?

He stands for the current thing. Whatever it is.

His entire campaign strategy was to copy Trump.

But Trumps stinks right now.

So Dutton has to think of his own strategy and we all know he is not capable of that.

The only things I can associate with Dutton are nuclear - which he refuses to talk about anymore, and sacking 40k public servants - which he also refuses to tell us any details about.

Dutton is an empty suit and he is being exposed.

Except that's quite a well known site, and you can click through from each link directly to the Parliament website to check the voting record for yourself.

How a parliamentarian votes on any bill is a matter of public record. What the bill may or may not do is a matter of interpretation, which this self-appointed site does for you. But it does provide a nice link or screenshot if you want to whack someone while trying to make a point.

Lucky they link to all their sources so you can fact check it then.

Much better than relying on what Peter Dutton tells you he supports.

i get this has been workshopped by political insiders and ad exec types way way smarter than moi - but lurches efforts to continually brand albo with the label 'weak'* is well beyond annoying 🤮

* we havent hear the bigoted 'limp wrist' slur again so i guess thats a positive

By contrast though, are we really meant to see a man who sued someone over a social media post as strong?

It’s a self serving projection. I reckon most voters would be comfortable with this aspect of Albos character

And yet Dutton has a huge glass jaw at characterisations if him

On Duttons desire for strong leadership which is rhetoric, Pauline Hanson should be PM

Perhaps the former campaign manager is retired so can do what they like?

Also, the Kooyong candidates forum was probably 300 people, max? The tele town hall was 3000. Hamer was speaking to constituents.
Have to admit its not a good look by Hamer.

Apparently it was a last minute cancellation to meet with Angus.............but then have a tele town hall? How quickly did they organise that or was that always the plan?

Declaring as a voter who will preference her last regardless because Dutton, I must say she seems light weight.

I suspect the liberal special campaign for seats lost to independents will be seen as a huge fail in hindsight

I think the calculation would have been the benefits from the tele town hall would have outweighed the costs of cancellation.

I wonder how Trump's latest bout of stupidity will affect Dutton?

If Dutton was regarded as more trustworthy, and hadn't been sucking up to Trump beforehand, he might get away with his belated about-face, but he isn't, so I don't see how he does.

Just thinks its not a great look by Hamer after trying to repair the damage Frydenberg caused.

I would have thought showing up could be way to claim back some of that credibility. Shows she can stand on her own two feet and didn't need the support of Hume or Taylor to be by her side.

Trump saying we dont buy or allow US beef as reason for tariff.

But surely it makes no sense for a raw commodity to be shipped both ways between two countries (with associated transport costs)

Are there any cases in the world where such a two way trade exists?

Australia exports 67% of its beef production.

No idea why we would buy any beef from anyone when we produce three times as much as we need and it is an expensive thing to export/import when you are in the middle of nowhere.
