What tactics are they?

could be wrong but the major tactic what from i observed, north put a half ground zone in place, with all players directed to not mark at any pack contest and bring the ball to the front of the pack, when albanvale won a contest or took a mark in the back half they were forced more often than not to take a set kick rather than play on, allowing nf to roll it back nice and slow, albanvale only on a few occasions got it over the back of the zone, nf got it there most of the day

geez the seasons not even over, last year, kennedy and zerafa, and now, our best and fairest by some 40 votes tonight, well done to you stevie paone, all 4 foot of him, hasd been approached, by the coach of a rival team, who happened to finish in the top 5 afer round 17, offering him coin , and ill tell you, he aint coming, so stop messaging him, facebooking him, nuture yur own kids like we are doing with him!!!

Love seeing people try and interpret opposition tactics. I would make an educated guess that North were not directed to bring the ball to ground rather than mark it. You got the rolling back part right though North have been doing that for years and do it very well. I think most AFL sides and local sides do it these days but some definetely do it better than others.

Have clubs had their best and fairest counts yet and if so who were the top 5 at each. I heard Atik won at Albanvale who were the other place getters.

any scores from today???? i hear parkside by over 10 goals.......

the albanvale pre-season training singlet will say......''loosen the rope from our neck 2011''

Well done to Parkside on reaching the grand final. They have gone along nice and quietly and deserve their spot. The big guy up forward looked good close to goal which on the big grounds is his only effective position. With a couple of inclusions it pretty much means both teams will be full strength which is what we all like to see.

Looking at the history of A1's and A2's the losing side one year quite often wins it the following year with many saying you have to lose one to win one. That's a good stat for Parkside only thing i see is they may well be a little slow and top heavy. They didn't finish today the best but saying that they will be hoping for an advantage using their bigger bodies. As long as they don't try to throw their weight around in the wrong way.

Nth Footscray will be fresh which could be an advantage later in the game. They may not be as match hardened but that didn't really affect West Footscray a couple of years back. As much as Nth need to run they also need to win the contested ball to set up the run. My tip Nth Footscray in a tight one. I have a feeling the first quarter is going to be very important in the result. If Nth get the jump it's all over bc they will run out the game a lot better. If Parkside get the jump and playing catch up get inside Nth's heads then this could be a factor. If this happens and Nth keep at the job at hand and play a good last 3 quarters it sets up a good game. All in all a good game ensues. Good luck to all involved.

Bad luck to Albanvale. Not sure what happened at the end i suspect a few injuries tested the depth a little as they were a lot stronger early in the year. Probably a little too reliant on Wingy. He is getting on a little bit and need lesser responsibility. He still plays well never the less. Like i posted early in the year with a large influx of key senior players it's not uncommon to take a year or two to get used to playing together. If they stick together and add a little depth i am sure they will push hard next year.

A couple of North footscray players might be taking sleeping tablets this week. Few too many hard balls up for grabs this week. Parkside to avenge last year's defeat and march on to A Grade. Problem is, march on with what?

PS - Albanvale found out in finals... again!!

David Orchard = GENIUS. All those "so called" Parkside people having a crack at Orcho, Nath & BC earlier in the year, eat humble Pie.
These 3 have held the club together(along with Dave Keenan) and are 5 days away from tasting the ultimate success.
How about any Past Players who tipped Parks to go out of the finals in straight sets stay the hell away this weekend, we don't want fair weather supporters at the club

why is he a genius? they beat the biggest finals chockers in wrfl history and those 3 blokes along with keenan have done the total opposite

C'mon Farnsworth, even you would have to admit the great job these blokes have done considering they were left to pick up the pieces when Turner and his cronies decided the leave the place when things didn't go their way. They can only beat the opponent up against them and Albanvale were favourites going into the game! These blokes(especially Dave & Benny) had the modesty to put the Club before themselves by sticking by the Club when things got hard and now they have been rewarded for their hard work with a berth in the GF. These blokes are great examples of the Club Motto. "Once a Parksider, Always a Parksider"

if these blokes are great examples of the once club motto "Once a Parksider Always A Parksider" then why have they over the past few years continually treated ex players and supporters like strangers and made them feel unwanted, why have they told several of them ( club greats, club record game players and premiership players ) that they are not welcomed or allowed at club funtions and the pres keenan didnt even want to hold the 2000 premiership reunion at the club so they had to hold it at the powell hotel. have you ever wondered why so many of the past players and supporters dont go to the club anymore and have a strong dislike for these blokes.

There's conflict at every club/organisation. What's important is the here and now, and they have got the club to a GF, which is a great effort considering all the trouble caused by these so called club Greats ect.
You seem to know a lot about the club, so you would know that the place has always been clicky. Through the hard work of Dave and Benny they have tried to stamp this behaviour out, and from the results have done a fantastic job. Dave Orchard & Nathan J have stood by the club and are always welcoming to anyone who wants to help the club along.

I think you will find that most of the troubles and dramas were started by these people and not the other way round and yes they have changed the club and culture but for the worst. As for nathan j standing by the club then why did he apply for the sunshine coaching job, leave parkside during pre season and train with albion, backstabb and cause the previous coach to leave and except or should i say demanded a massive playing fee.

There are 2 sides to every story. Like a lot of players Nath J considered his options at the start of the year but through his loyalty decided to stay at Parkside where he has been an integral part of the club reaching the GF again. You talk about "bad culture", why don't you try and be a bit more positive? You should be supporting these boys. C'mon mate you've gotta give credit where credit's due and Dave Orchard has been out-standing

Good to see Benny back at the club:D helping out,was missing
first half off the year.
As for nathan im sure he sent a commitee man a text saying
he should never have gone to parkside and wasted 5 years?
Big decisions this week with Patty and Sid.

Also Red Devil if North win it will they go up?

how hard is it to coach a team on 70k that went underfeated last year and kept all the big names and picked up as much as they lost. remember last years grand final when it counted no rotations in the centre or off the bench great coaching there. im sorry but both years the players have got them into the grand final without any "tactical" coaching.

Jugga never put in for the Sunshine Job, i don't know him personally but from the sh#t i've seen him cop on here, it's a credit to his character to keep playing at Parkers. I would love to know if the new powers to be at the league (yes you Billy) actually asked and if so got answers if clubs won this years div2 flag had intentions to go up. If not, i can't see West surviving. Which inturn could be a case of negligence on the Leagues behalf.

On the nath saga i'd like to say he's got $800 reasons why he is playing at parkside

It will be interesting to see whether Slobba the Slurry and his Peacock mate don the black and white this weekend as that's the color they bleed, or will they just sit at home playing RP's PS3 all day

Come on Choofa, Who is the Club poaching the players?

Is it also true the Coaching job for season 2011 at Laverton is up for grabs?

not a club, a coach, we know it happens every year, and its not hard to make someone an offer when you know how much they get paid each game, maybe he should of worried about getting his club as far as he could in the finals, that narrows it down

and no its not true

hey digger, we dont pay players at our club, and fully expect our better players to get offers, just pissed at the timing of it and the fact the person is fully aware of the kids plans for next year and could jeapordise this by planting a seed in his head about how much he could be getting a game

coach / club , yeah same thing, just using this medium to let him know that we are fully aware of the offer, and yes you are on the money:thumbsu:

Fact of life, it happens everywhere..

Im sure if its not him other clubs would be anyway. From a selfish point of view cant blame him for doing whats best for his club
