I wish we would get the chip off our shoulder and stop trying to force a rivalry with the Crows. If we could develop a friendly atmosphere at our games for Crows supporters who are open to supporting both teams, then that's more people at games = more money for us.
huh??? Its the other way round. People jumped on the Crows because they hated Port Adelaide from the SANFL days. We are not forcing any rivalry, it is and always has been Port against the rest in SA.

what.

the Tasmanians will want a team, just can't see us with our current marketing surviving in the long run
They wont get one because they have a small population spread all over the place. Not enough people will turn up.

1. Hartlett will not live up to expectation and will seek a trade in the next 2 seasons

2. Adelaide Oval will see our membership at similar levels as they are now outside of 2014, therefore making it not our saviour and leaving us in a worse financial position than we are currently in

3. Wines is every chance to be the next Anthony Banik as opposed to the next Joel Selwood
what

Brett Ebert looked alright towards the end of last year and I thought he did really well against stkilda in round 1 of the NAB cup

Young is a good footballer people just need to give him a chance

Same goes for O'Shea only played 4 games last year, yeah they weren't great but he is one of the best runners in the group. Thought he played well 2 weeks ago but everyone focused on the miss at goal, rather than his efforts around the ground.

Yeah, I know it's an unpopular view... but we're in the AFL now. We need to get out of that SA small town mentality. The Crows are a manufactured team... we have no real rivalry with them, besides that we share the same city. I enjoy the rivalry at Collingwood v Port games more, as there seems to be more of a mutual respect, with an undercurrent of hatred.

This one will unpopular around here - Mark Williams is not the anti-christ.

Westhoff is a spud and should have been jettisoned years ago.

Cassisi will go down as one of the worst Port captains ever.

Port Adelaide's team of the early 2000s under-achieved.

I think that team would have won more premierships if John Cahill had remained as coach, instead of being replaced by Mark Williams.

I also think we should drop the Power nickname, go back to wearing a prison bars jumper and play our home games at Alberton Oval.

5. Kane Cornes is the modern day Darren Smith. Chortled at by outsiders, abused by his own, but will go down as one of the clubs very best ever and probably most consistent footballer.

I just think the early 2000s team should have at least made 1 more grand final at minimum. A team like the one we had should have made at least 2 grand finals.

If, at some point in the future, Port is in danger of losing its place in the AFL, it should merge with Norwood, change its colours back to the old 19th century magenta and blue and be known as Port-Norwood.

In my opinion, this is the only conceivable arrangement that could produce a viable 2nd team in SA if Port as a standalone entity ever reaches a point where it is not viable.

My unpopular opinions are the draft class of 2009 are nearly a complete bust.
Moore i havent seen anything to say he will even be an average player
Butcher is all hype.
Pittard i do like

Another opinion of mine is Broadbent isnt all hes made out to be on here.

I was never angry at Shaun Burgoyne for leaving. In the climate he found himself in it was likely the best move for him and the team.
The best move for Shaun Burgoyne would have been to pull his finger out and play good football. He didn't do it here and hasn't done it at Hawthorn and wont win another premiership.
Peter Rohde has been doing a great job for years.
No...

Matthew Primus is not the club great so many people make him out to be. Only had a few good years as a player and his selfish, "me first" attitude in demanding back the captaincy from Premiership captain Tredrea in 2005 was divisive, stupid, and completely derailed any hope we might have had of defending our flag.

It was therefore no surprise to see him go for the head coaching job following Williams' axing, a job surely even he could have foreseen he was incapable of performing with any success.

I think we have over invested at Alberton. We have missed the opportunity to take up an inner city training and administration base. Having a visual presence in the city would've presented much greater room for growth than we have by being based in the back streets of an ageing suburb.

I would've loved to have seen a base built on the Adelaide Uni precinct. In 1996 the Magpies should've remained at Alberton and the Power should've based themselves in the city.

- Travis Boak should not be captain, has not shown enough.
- We have the worst ruck stock in the AFL
- Renouf, Mitchell, Colquhoun and J.Butcher will all be retired or delisted within 3 years
- (I hope im wrong about this one cause i love wingard but..) i dont think wingard will ever be as good as his hype
- Gray will never be the same after his last injury

Not a fan of Tom Jonas because he does not provide anything outside of defending.

I'm not sure there's anything wrong with that. If he wears his opponent like a glove say, 70% of the time, that would be infinitely more valuable than Troy Chaplin's special brand of accumulation and distribution.

Yeah, the cult of Primus is mindboggling.

You'd think we'd never seen a good, hard, tough player at Alberton before such is the Freoesque pedestal we put him on and the resultant wicket he fed off for literally stuff-all in return for almost a decade.
