Jack Graham would be a very good addition. He's one of those guys who stands up in the critical moments of games. Our side lacks big moment players and that is why we lose tight games against strong opposition. He reminds me of Brad Ebert and wouldn't we love a younger version of him in the side.

Surely there will be draft sanctions for Brisbane and Hawthorn. This is 100 times worse than the Essendon’s drug saga.

Nah. Being a pack of c8nts isn't performance enhancing or cheating. If Adelaide didn't get any for the camp, I can't see Hawthorn and punishing Brisbane would be even more absurd.

**** trying to trade for overpriced back end of list players

Hit the draft or trade in high end young talent.

Our best play is to make lots of noise in pickett and jhfs ears and go hard for them next year.

I would be looking to trade pick 19 into a 2023 2nd rounder + another mid draft pick.

Use our pick 8 on an elite player , then go after needs mid to late draft (talls / small forwards)

Go into next year armed with picks to go after jhf and pickett

This.

We've got enough young players that can be developed into depth at worst.

We don't need plodders stopping their development. We need high end talent either via draft or trade.

Thank you Rooch for some light comic relief on this dark day for AFL.

I will be proven right anytime in the next 15 years. Just you wait and see. #longgame

It would be either / or .. not both. They could choose to go into deficit (if they didn’t have enough points) or just trade some future picks.
As I said, I reckon they’ll use this years first + other picks from this year plus a pick from next year and ask for picks back.

In reality brisbane won’t want any high or mid draft picks in this draft, they’ll take the two players and just look at end of draft or rookie, so pick 15, mcstay compo, 33 should all be on the table.

Wines is fine. What he lacks is touch / weight on his kicks.

Doesn’t bite off more than he can chew, doesn’t try sideways dinky kicks. Just goes long. Is right up there in metres gained in the league from memory.
What wines lacks is the ability to hit any target.. he is far from fine, he’s a butcherer of the highest order.. he
Might get meters gained for his kicks but it’s the goals gained from the opposition due to his kicks that we should be concentrating on.

Has to be the most overrated player ever to play for this great club.

Rooch will just start making John Edwards level of vague predictions soon.
I'm getting a feeling about a E, is there a player with a E in their name, or maybe they played for a team with an E

I've said in a previous post that Dunkley is one of my favourite players in the league but wasn't a good fit for the team so I'm glad we missed. Graham on the other hand is an elite fit for the team. If he's open to it. Future captain material, elite training and personal standards would be straight fit in a starting 18, adds flexibility both inside and outside ability. Would very happily move some pieces whether it's picks or players to bring him in. A perfect Boak mould replacement. Buttering up Pickett and JHF for next year would give us a core to compete for years to come. If Payne from Brisbane is available I think he'd be the perfect lock down key back for Aliir to get off and do what he does best.
Far more excited about a Graham, Rioli and Payne incoming than Dunkley collectively the three of them would cost about the same as Dunkley outright.

Hmmm let me guess. Jack Graham and Kysaiah Pickett.

Good comparison of Graham and Ebo.
Lacks speed but runs hard both ways for long periods, so similar to Boak in that respect
Does shine in "big moments" too - somethingbwe certainly don't in abundance these days!
Not even close to elite, but could do a few jobs with his versatility.
Not totally against looking at him as long as it's not too high an asking price.

No, you’re wrong. Hawthorn will pay heavily if the allegations are proven.

Every year mothers from around the country send their 18 yo boys to clubs many hundreds or thousands of miles from home. Ensuring they are safe is a club responsibility and an AFL duty to oversee. If such a system is to persist, the AFL has to make an example of Hawthorn, if the allegations are proven.

Gil has already said that it is hard to imagine more serious allegations. It follows that if proven, it is hard to imagine a more serious offence or more serious penalty.

The fact that it was a concerted club effort means a steep penalty. The Cow’s/Tippett affair is an example of this as well as Essendon/Hird affair. I’d expect the individuals found guilty of involvement to be banned from any AFL club for multiple years. I’d expect the club whose staff were involved to lose draft picks for multiple years and to cop a massive fine.

Brisbane won’t suffer directly but stand to lose a coach if he was involved, as alleged.

I'd be on the phone to JHF and his manager now. Hows he going to feel playing for Clarko, if the alleged accusations are proven and he survives. Oh boy did we dodge a bullet there, I was on the clarko train.
Yes thank God we have Kenny he would never be involved in anything like that.
Kenny loves everyone except ruckman.

We have good midfield depth already:

Wines
Rozee
Boak
Butters
Drew
Mead
Dumont
I hate to break it to you, but that is a very mediocre midfield, demonstrating zero depth.

Mead totally unproven at AFL level. Dumont is a depth player who played a role but should be playing SANFL. Drew is part of our problem, solid battler but doesn't do anywhere near enough and his get it, kick it, lacking composure style is not improving. Even Butters isn't proven as a 22 game midfielder yet, he flashes in and out, game after game, most of his disposals are Kane like going sideways or lacking pentration. Boaks probably gone in '24.

Our midfield is a huge concern, has been for years. Well structured enough to be competitive, but consistently destroyed by the best sides.

Graham would be an ideal Hinkleyball player. Would I get him if he was cheap?
Yeah he would be a player that you could use in a midfield rotation much the same way that Richmond use him.
What is he worth ?
Not anywhere near as much as Richmond posters are asking.
If you want to clear salary we aren't going to give you a high pick.

Jack graham is an average footballer, we cannot fit him in the midfield

Maybe. I did reflect on it afterwards and it dawned on me that no punishment other than a fine would mean Brisbane and North suffered worse than Hawthorn. It's still unprecedented to punish the club in a permanent way for anything other than seeking unfair advantage which was the case with Hird/Tippett.

As much as I feel a bit sorry for North as they could really implode now, there should be no guilt in picking at the carcass. We copped it in 2012. The Vic clubs have butchered Gold Coast especially and North were partly involved with that with Greenwood. We should be targeting all 3 clubs to see if there is anyone good that is gettable.
