So they both report directly to Bell? That makes no sense and has never been our structure.

EDIT - that goes back to the old Vozzo structure but Clarke was brought in to run the whole recruitment/contracts space so still struggling with this.

Clarke is list manager only.

Massey, Clarke, Mcqualter, Pearce report to Bell who reports to Pyke who along with Worsfold reports to the board.

Oh and as of a little while ago I report to nobody and am sipping red wine waiting for an early flight.

You cant retire mate, not after the past 2 nights efforts

I wonder how much (if any) we altered our preferred order due to Mini’s intended style of play considering it takes forever to draft and he was only just appointed.

If we didn’t at all it just still came together so well for what he has outlined and the types we went for. We suddenly have an exciting list, and I hate to say it - a lot of that has spawned from trading in pick 3, impeccable recruiting, and some luck thrown in on the nights. So happy, go Eagles 🦅

As the draft winds down for another year, I just want to give a shout out to noobermensch for his video contributions

I know he puts them together for his own channel but to take the time to post them to an opposition team board like ours is invaluable. Always done in the right spirit and never gets involved in any spats, comes in drops his videos and leaves occasionally with the odd bit of info on the player concerned

Cheers mate, can’t quite bring myself to wish Essendon well but if they do then I’ll be pleased for you at least

Looks like we drafted Grego with the small lockdown defender role in mind. Would then release Hough for a different role. Hopefully Mid/Wing.

I think we end up having another train on spot as I think Sheed is done. Even if he’s not I just can’t see him fitting into the new game plan at all.

Possibly but also a lot of teams have more than one dangerous small forward, with many teams seemingly building a small army of them. Grego can take the smallest types and Hough being a bit more versatile can go from small to 3rd tall type playersand then Ginbeast the next size up and so on. Some days all 3 may be playing on livewire type "small forwards." Allan I hope just never really spends much time in defence, projects as way more likely to make it as a midfielder than Ginbey.

Had the pleasure of watching the draft at the Davis household tonight and to say the young man was relieved is an understatement!

Hamish has worked his tail off this year and to see him slide to our last pick was an absolute delight - again albeit a bit stressful.

Reuben and Clay stopped by with Shannon Hurn around 30 minutes after we selected him. To see the all round joy in both Hamish and his friends/family's faces was so good to see and reminded me of why I love this club so much.

Absolutely thrilled with our haul over the last two days and feel as though we addressed a range of list needs at various points throughout the draft. Excited to add Malakai to our list tomorrow and move into the next generation of West Coast Eagles footy.

Still celebrating?! I hope so!

The Club have spun straw into gold with this one, not a bad result at all.
Agree, fantastic job RumplePHIlLtskin and BOND 007

Love to see the focus on players who hate losing contested pill.

Beyond ecstatic we were able to land shanahan at 30. The Grecco pick felt a bit left field but the more I read about him the more I think he’s going to be a favourite.

Enjoy retirement Phil.

First of all amazing job done by the entire team. Very happy with the players we drafted and can honestly say we turned a very poor draft hand into an excellent one.

Looking back over the past two nights it's amazing how much luck/good fortune we had.

To hear we were very surprised Bo made it to our selection is fantastic but even more than that the fact Port and Fremantle both wanted the same player allowed us to bank another pick for nothing. Great work by the club and the first of many breaks that went our way.

The next break that went our way was no one was prepared to trade with us to get back into the first round without paying a kings ransom. Happy we were proactive in looking to do so but also very relieved we didn't pull the trigger on something stupid like North did. Then the heavens opened up for us on night two an lo and behold the very player we looked to recruit by getting another first fell into our laps at 30. I don't know how it happened, all i know is the football gods were smiling upon us once again.

We then managed to trade out a future third for another pick via the Lions. It doesn't matter if it was ours overs the Hawks, it sounds like there were many suitors for these picks and we did get the lowest of the bunch. Any way you look at it a pick in the 40's this year was worth much more than a third round pick next year, both on the points index and the quality of the draft.

At this point it seems Boxshall and Gross were our preferences, St Kilda gave away a future second to **** block us on Boxshall which was frustrating but we still managed to secure another slider in Gross and whilst i must admit i know very little about Greco it's not like we paid very much to select him.

I imagine at this point we were probably close to done and were probably on Malakai watch more than anything. How Davis fell to us with our last pick is a mystery but again lady luck was wearing royal blue and gold last night.

We turned picks 12, 26 & 72 and our future third into

PD = Phantom Draft
DR = Draft rankings

Shanahan Waterman and Allen starting forward with of course Waterman and Allen being the focal points would be a great introduction for a young guy.
We also have Jack Williams who is an outstanding player and going to be a beast once he fills out . Forward/ruck with a huge tank and footy IQ .

With the new rookie list rules in players spending extra years on the list if they haven't played X amount of games i can see many Ruckman sliding to the rookie draft or mid season draft rather than late in the national draft .

With only the freaks in natanui / Jackson getting drafted in the top of the draft .

Hey guys just wanted to let you know I thought you absolutely smashed this draft. From my rankings I had

Allan 7
Shanahan 11
Gross 31
Davis 39

And I have Champion 33 so if you pick up him in the rookie draft it will be even better. Well done. Looking forward to seeing how they all develop.
Chapman joins us as a Cat B today I believe
