Unlike last year when the excitement of adding No.1 pick Harley Reid to our list was palpable (and also near certain), this draft is uncertain and viewed with equal parts excitement and trepidation

We go into the first night with pick 12, which is expected to slide to 15 after academy and Father Son selections and a lot of guesswork on who we’ll take. Or even if we actually use that pick with rumours circulating that we might trade up or back

Night two we have pick 26 (subject to change) along with a gaggle of late picks. Again, there’s the possibility of trading into the draft with another pick using one of our later future picks and even less certainty on who we might pick

The one near guarantee is that NGA product, Malakai Champion, will be an Eagle at some point over the next couple of days

So sit back and watch to see how the draft unfolds whilst praying we don’t do something stupid

Well that went so much better than i could have hoped for.

Credit where it is due. The team turned the draft around for us in a big way securing two extra picks and hopefully a few of the sliders we selected can show up and show out.

Can anyone tell me which future 3rd we traded? Our or the Hawks?

Definitely going to set you up well, and piss more than a few off when you bounce up quicker than expected.

I'd be blowing the soft cap and adding a further 1-2 development coaches to fast track development, but think you have a good crop there regardless.

Think with his hand balling ability which is elite and that agility to go with
his running power he will develop into a good footballer

Really interested too see how Urquart goes at afl level if his changing kicking action

Let me be one of the first to say i have been incredibly critical of our off season thus far but the team deserve nothing but congratulations for this draft.

Picking up two additional picks for what amounted to a future third whilst keeping our future draft hand intact is a masterful display.

Very happy with the selections and the versatility and variety on show. Don't think i could have hoped for more.

Sorry for the grief WCE_phil , i will happy suck a metaphorical dick and applaud the team tonight.

Hopefully tomorrow we add Malakai Champion to our list as a rookie and then fill our last list spot via a train on option - Burgiel is going to pull his finger out if he wants to extend his career
