He seems excited.

TBH I think it's why he slid, he's just a footy player. No super clever answers, no bullshit, no what recruiters want to hear. Bloody great supportive family and a really good kid. Started a touch slow early in the season but once he got going his body of work combined with his overall athletic profile and marking makes for a very tantalising prospect. The timing of his leads and his ability to step up to the level as the season went on made it an easy choice.

Went really hard to get him last night but was just too difficult to get back into the first round. When Richmond drafted Sims we knew we had him.

So in the end we still got the man & saved draft capital we can use next year. I can see why your stoked!

Did any other teams come hard for him?

What do recruiters want to hear?

If we had him at 12 on our board, then bloody oath I’m glad we told the Cats to get stuffed, and took the talent in front of us. Seriously excited by what this bloke could be for us!

12 on WCE draft board. Top rated KPP and we got the best leading and marking tall forward in the draft at 30.
I'll take the lead-mark forward over the contested mark/hang in the goal square every day of the week. All the games best goalkickers are lead-mark.

But he looks tidy in the contest too. Is he bigger than 195cm?

Makes you wonder, they obviously don't rate A. Reid that well within the club.

Nah, you just don't put all your eggs into one basket.

A.Reid gets home sick and asks for a trade and then what? Our developing KPF - Gone

Both have a lot of work to do and can develop in the WAFL together for the time being.

Reid will be better suited as a Harris Andrews type KPD anyway imo. Shanahan seems a more natural goalkicker

Bazzo, Archer Reid and Shanahan can play back as well.

Barnett is/was being trialled there and looked better than in the ruck but he's most likely gone along with Jamieson next year.

Jack Williams is looking more and more like a super second ruck/tall forward.
Wtf happened to Barnett? Wasn't he supposed to be the premium ruck of his draft class?

Not athletic enough? Rucks are hard, because you need to be an absolute freak, otherwise it's going to take time to build the core strength to be able to compete against the mature rucks.

You can't hide your lack of strength like other positions given you go into a wrestle/test of strength at every ball up/throw in.
