Certified Legendary Thread Sack Hinkley 13 - Another Crack At This (Stepping down end of 2025)

I heard a comment from Darcy Fogarty on the news the other night.

"Winning hides a lot of things"

This one statement alone, is the one thing I'd love Ken and our board to really reflect on.

Our ability to pinch wins at crucial times during the Hinkley era, that have amounted to nothing other than delaying the inevitable, have also cost us time and time again when it comes to actually critically analysing what is going on.

To hear the commentary post StKilda trial game that we're back on track, then the post-Collingwood commentary that "Oh, but we best StKilda last week". Then again after beating Richmond it was all back on track again, etc. It's just infuriating. We actually truly believe our own hype all the time, we don't work hard enough and WE ALLOW WINNING TO HIDE THINGS all the god damn time.
Wallpapering over cracks has certainly been a hallmark of the Hinkley era.

It's absolutely infuriating how much schtick Voss is copping, however warranted it is, from supporters and media alike, when Ken just continuously gets a free pass in the media.

Despite the insanely long tenure differences.

We throw a sign up on Port Rd after what? 12 years of failure and are all of a sudden a pitchfork wielding mob of bloodthristy lunatics who can't fathom it's not the SANFL anymore.

This league has just about run its race with me.

Our only hope was always to bring with us our own internal standards, expectations and ruthlessness, that had overseen us to peak sustained success.

We really have just willingly morphed into another VFL franchise.

They forget in 2022 when Hinkley started the season 0-5.

We do not need the media running the club. We just need a board thats competent

I wonder what Jack thinks of Hinkley's lack of preparation for big games and his inability to display any game day coaching abilities.

I'm sure Koch's finals is a pass mark comment must make him vomit in his mouth, it's not like we coming from the bottom 4 in the previous season.
Jack would be fuming at comments like "Ken Hinkley is Port's greatest ever AFL coach." It summarises how far our once great club has fallen.

You learn more from losses no doubt.

When Gerard Whateley was praising him for “putting Port back together” during the subsequent handful of wins, as if he was freshly parachuted in and in no way responsible for the previous sh¡tshow.

And of course we went on another four game losing streak later in the year but Kenny miraculously had nothing to do with that, only the wins.

The club will still be telling the members and supporters "don't you remember 2012?"
And I will respond, "Yes I do - with great fondness."

That’s like telling people they should remember the Titanic before it hit the Iceberg
It wasn't a fun time, but at least I was emotionally invested in the club back then. Now I feel like we're just treading water until the fraud finally leaves the building.

When you see graphics forum mainstays like Fizzler, Gremio and Dylan8 in this thread (and no doubt previous parts) you know shit's hit the fan at the Pear.

El_Scorcho.

No doubt you'll be enjoying creating mock guernseys a lot more in a post Hinkley world next year.

Likewise Stormy. (Whatever he goes by now.)

Stinkers is basically holding your club at ransom by now.
