Season 38 Itsmyshow Award for the spammiest Roy

The Itsmyshow Award goes to the player with the highest match day post count and is named after a player who only played 53 games for the Roys (seasons 11-13) but by his own account made a big impact on the club.

When deciding this award, we make no reference to posting quality, just quantity. Just as well or this year’s winner would be an also-ran. Naw who am I kidding? Every one of his posts reeks of quality. With a touch of cutting realism and no small amount of very weird humour, this guy loves to post. A LOT. Usually when drunk.

His numbers were down a little bit on last season but he still topped out the Roys list, chased and often supported - in a sort of funny guy / straight guy double act - by TheGoatBaron. He will tell you that most of his posting is related to captainy adminy type stuff but don’t believe him. He is a serial liar.

He is omni-present in everything the Roys do and stand for. He is the Mobbfather. He is unique. He is Mobbs - your season 38 Itsmyshow Medallist.
My postings is all quality 🥰

Season 38 Yippyio Award for the highest goalkicker

AD_4nXdHS_nR1Stdev4x1kZ-iktRm523Xj9KEvCur_FMrmy8hZTmIrS4ce2si1gcwf7hF4Zb4MZCmBtEk2kM15LRCJC-FDg9bWK3j5wcLiqhUJBRXCU-JboqblQs_rmp60fPAV8O1FawJQ

The Yippyio Award is named for the legendary Yippyio who played 91 games and kicked 136 goals for the Roys between seasons 3 and 6.

This year’s winner should not really be a surprise to anyone. When the end of the world comes (round about Sweet FA season 96), this guy will be in the history books as the GOAT. It’s right there in his name. Often when people give themselves a GOAT name, it’s all bluff and bluster but this guy has the kahunas to live up to it.

After showing his value in season 37 playing across the forward line without actually leading the attack, he managed a very respectable 27.19. In pre-season he was banging on the coaches door demanding to be the focal point of the team and after the 7th or 8th straight day of this out and out harassment, Mobbs decided enough was enough and told him he could take multi-award-winning Mooch's spot. We did reach out to Mooch for a quote and he supplied several. But after checking with our lawyers (and several English language professors), we thought it best not to publish them.

Bigfooty’s Head Shake Officer started the season with 4 goals against the Royals and never looked back from there. He kicked bags of 6 against the Bears in round 2 and Demons in round 13, 7 against the Dragons in round 11, and 8 against the Royals (making 12 for the season) in round 16. Averaging just over 4 goals per game, he finished the season with 65.30 to finish in 4th on the goal kicking leaderboard, 9 goals behind season 38 Fred Medallist ShaunDuggan.

An outstanding performer on the field and with a wit that could cut glass off it. TheGoalBaron is your season 38 Yippyio Medallist.

Furies FFC 14.13.97 def Roys FFC 10.5.65

Our visit to the hippodrome was one of the lower points for the season, with the team from Punt establishing a 4 goal lead by quarter time, which they maintained throughout, eventually winning by 32 points. The miserly Furies won essentially every position on the ground, keeping the Roys to just 10 goals for the game.

Phar Ace put everything into his game despite a low possession count, laying 6 tackles. Elmer_Hauser fought hard at CHF. He also summed up our performance before the first ball was bounced:
Tired, fatigued, sleepy, questing for Naps, the usual Roys issues :$

Roys FFC 17.14.116 wdb Ophidian OB 20.13.133

The slump continued back at home, though we did at least post a decent score. TheGoatBaron kicked 4.4 before being moved into defence in the last quarter, as of course all luxury ocean liner deckchairs should be.

We were quick out of the gate scoring the first 4 goals of the match, before the OOBs fought their way back into contention prior 1/4 time. A 2 goal lead became 4 goals by half time, but after then the Old Boys hit their straps. TheGoatBaron kicked 3 consecutive behinds (ultimately leading to the reshuffle), and Dicky Fitzwell kicked a goal. Then, over the last 8 minutes of the 3rd quarter, the OOBs piled on 6 goals 2 behinds to zilch. In the final quarter, we got plenty of the ball, but kicked only 3.5, while the Vipers added 4.1, to earn their victory.

BRAB starred for the Old Boys with 6 goals. For the home team, Phar Ace could not be cowed, with 28 touches, 3 goals and even sharing the ruck duties with DERRINALPHIL , both giving first use for most of the game. HinkleysHeroes put in a great game, as did fitzroybowiedog , SpecialBruce , _Mike_ and 3KZ is Football . I was so-so, in case anyone was wondering.

I also noticed DemurePrincess reference skibidi and am surprised anyone here would have heard of the dance!

West Coast Wonders 10.9.69 wdb Roys FFC 17.12.114

Back on the winners list, and how! The Roys made the Colosseum their own in Round 10, jumping the Wonders early and generally having the match sewn up by half time. An unanswered four goal spell in the 2nd quarter took the wind out of the sails of the home team, and it was downhill sailing from there.

TheGoatBaron kicked 5, ably assisted by Dicky Fitzwell with 4. DERRINALPHIL again showed why he is the best ruckthingy in the league, and while HinkleysHeroes cemented his place in the records as a future champion. fitzroybowiedog scored 2 less tackles than the Wonders did goals.

Special highlight of the thread was dogs105 saying hi to everyone in their own personalised individual post.

Hi dogs105

We have a tie for the Most Improved player this season, and those joint winners are SpecialBruce and Elmer_Hauser !

SpecialBruce has continued to perform in onball roles since his return to the Roys a season and a half ago. A whisker from a Broken Medal last season was followed up with typical strong performances week in and week out.

Elmer_Hauser 's investment in the Roys is unsurpassed. Every time we show up for a match, his heart gets that little bit bigger. I've never heard anyone declare their love for the team as strongly as Elmer. If his adoration was any stronger, it would be creepy! Elmer also puts heart and soul into his filler roles onfield, and rallies the troops on gameday week in and ... well, well we don't like to talk about the weeks out!

Congrats to both Brucey and Elmer!

One name burst from the throats of our fingertips when it came time to discuss the most consistent player for the Roys over Season 38. There was no argument, and it really does put a smile on my face to award this season's Royboy2 Award to DERRINALPHIL !

Phil has performed non-stop on the field this season, gathering more hitouts than any other player in the league in Home & Away games. He also kicks goals, lays tackles and hits people, he's the complete qootballer! Starting only in Season 34, Phil is already knocking on the door of the top 20 rucks of all time.
Add to this Phil's presence in the community where he has become a focal point for probably half of the team's conversation topics, DerrinalPhil has become an instituion within a few short seasons.

We can all sense it, this is the start of something very, very grand! Well done DERRINALPHIL !

Congrats to SpecialBruce and Elmer_Hauser!

The Broken medal count is certainly hotting up too. I thought ol' Brucey was running away with it but he is being caught round by round. At this stage it's anybody's medal. Well, anybody who is currently in the top 4 or 5 anyway.

Roys FFC 18.11 (119) def by Dragons FFC 21.7 (133)

( Summary by Mooch )
We had a morale-boosting win at the Colosseum last week but were still sitting outside the 8, while the Dragons suffered a narrow loss to the Gumbies. This looked like a fairly even match up …….. On paper at least …..

And so it turned out to be on grass. Cracking game this one with 39 goals all up in a very even contest. It was impossible to pick between the teams, with the biggest lead of the game falling to the Dragons by 25 in the second quarter. The game rained goals galore with TheGoatBaron snagging 7.3 in a career high performance (to date), and Bonz barely keeping up with 7.2 at the other end.

Despite the heroics at full forward, there was so much more to this game. You couldn’t take you eyes off SpecialBruce (32 touches, 9 marks, and a goal) battling with Blaze Storm in the middle. Pie 4 Life’s game (26 disposals, 11 tackles, 1 goal) would have got him Mobbs votes on most days but on this day he couldn’t get near the outstanding 3KZ is Football who had an incredible 44 touches, took 5 marks and snagged a goal. DragoDelph was another solid performer but his opponent DERRINALPHIL will wonder what more he could have done (21 hitouts, 23 disposals) to not end up on the losing side.

SpecialBruce looking over his shoulder I'd bet.

Actually he messaged me today and said he wouldn't be able to make it tonight. He asked if he won and when I refused to leak the results he called me a tease :D
