Carlton board are less critical of their pathetic performances out of a team that is meant to be a top 4 team before the season started .

What did you guys expect to happen at the start of the year when we recruited 8 kids ?

This is a rebuild like no other and will have 20+ new players in 3 years

Anyone who saw what we did last off season and had any other thought about our year as anything but thrashings should really go down to vicroads and hand their License back because it is clear they lack the critical thinking skills to drive a car.

We were competitive for a half? Well shit, that is better than I thought we would be at this stage.

Amazing this board as some pointed out. A few points.

Did anyone expect a 4 qtr effort in a first year full rebuild. I said it before with the kids you will get green patches and quarters or half game's understandingly massive reality check. Whoever didn't see beltings coming your in fairyland.

Again on Yze his in his first year rebuild we don't have the cattle and experience yet. Don't judge him on past failures of recruitment etc and poor decisions. His being let down by a senior group and second tier that continue to go missing or fail to do the basics that's who should be in blow torch. One thing through Hopper and Taranto cannot be in that same midfield.

Time of rotation of kids now and that's the positive Sims,Faull,Tap ,Alger, Smillie and Hotton to come in. Will getva few back from long term injuries

If we don’t add pace into the midfield we are ****ed .
Defenders and forwards have no hope and shouldn’t be judged .

Why is everyone so panicked? Our quickest and most explosive mids are already on the list : Lalor who had no pre-season. Smillie who hasn’t played yet. Hotton who hasn’t played yet. McCauliife should be in within a few weeks. Seth Campbell as he continues to develop with be injected into midfield.

Then we will probably get another explosive mid at pick #1 in 2025.

3 of our 4 x top-11 draft picks haven’t even played yet… we need to relax.

I feel like we're going to need another strong aerial presence up forward against Lions otherwise Andrews, Payne and Lester are going to absolutely dominate, so Blight has to go forward for mine.

On the flipside their KPFs are pretty average and Miller, Gray and Broad should match up pretty well against Hipwood, Morris and Day.

Play Taranto half forward. Hopper, McAuliffe, Ross and McIntosh in the middle. Kmac to hard tag Neale, which is key in beating Lions.

Not sure if KMac has the wheels to follow Neale out of a stoppage (not just in terms of around the ground, but more when Neale bursts from a stoppage, if KMac can follow him out without giving away a FK).

KMac has an engine on him, but not necessarily the wheels, which is why I don't think we saw KMac on Rozee as a tag at all vs Port.

Macrae, Rowell, Cripps, Libba, Oliver. Players that can win clearance and contested ball, but not necessarily have the wheels to exit stoppage is who KMac seem to match up well on so far.

If anything, KMac would probably match up on Dunkley better than Neale.

This has been said for centuries and it’s rubbish. Good footballers will always make the ball look faster. You don’t need every player to be Usain Bolt.

Dunkley and Neale are slow … really slow. Will Ashcroft is not quick either. But they have complimentary midfielders like McCluggage and injection of Rayner, Bailey etc..around them.

It’s not TT’s fault the complimentary midfielders aren’t quite ready yet. Put Dunkley in our team right now and we’d be yelling at him also.

I sat second row from front not quite behind our bench .every time one of our players would come off for a rest they would walk down in front literally about 8 feet away
The look.of despair and defeat and total bewilderment was written all.over there faces. They are completely bereft of any confidence. Also no talking at all on.the ground no yelling out your hot or kick it or anything like that really disappointed

If that was the reality then how were we within a goal 10-minutes into the third quarter?

Sure, we got blown away…

We had eleven players with less than 26 games. 11! 8 with 10 or under. And it was Marvel where we’ve struggled for 5-years.

I’m honestly not sure what people are expecting?

LIONS! This is the game I feared. They will demolish us and going to take weeks to get some confidence back.
I know new kids will have more downs than ups but yesterday the big 3 showed nothing at all to a soft St Kilda. Couple that with the Dows Ross and the like after the first round where we branded them as elite lol. Gosh even in the VFL we are struggling but I see more hope in Gray The Sudanese backman don't know why he's not on our list.Sims faul alger ok but Vfl players at the moment the other three should jolt back and get confidence. On the other hand we bring in more failed experiments Ryan Kozy and the likes and give them farewell tour.
Man I fell for it after round 1 how now reality has set in once again I feel worse.

The old heads are a disgrace. They're supposed to set the example and set good habits. You've got Shorty panic like an anxiety ridden teenager and turning the ball over at will.
Midfield was not up to it. Need to move the existing midfielders out or move them to different positions so the younger brigade can develop.

Short is really struggling, showing what a champion cream on the cake type he is. Had a blinder in 2019 and 2020 was good. Just not his gig, we could get a second rounder from someone?
