Reid is pushing his own value down. The Eagles seem afraid to lose him. Eagles fans I speak to seem afraid to lose him as well. Many still think it will only be a year until they start a climb to the top.

I can’t see it. Gov and Kelly are still in their most important players and they are gone in the next two to three years. Oscar Allen seems to have left already. Duggan is a nothing player.

They are searching for a spine, a ruck and more mids. They need another few great drafts. I can’t see them being good for a long time. If they get Warner they will improve but will be average. They have sucked for such a long time…. Long may it continue!

Ok back to the thread, lets list them out.

JLos best game for a long while. Nailed the tag on Harley with Johnno who had the strength and speed to go with him and clearly beat him, particularly the first 3 quarters. Also tidied up the D50 kickouts of the opposition with better manning up and greater forward half pressure. He also had the three big forwards better separated. Quite a few things he got right. Finally.

Bruce: said before but must get 50 games into the kid asap, dont drop him unless hes exhausted, hes gonna be an A grader.

The Unicorn continues to add more and more evidence he can make it as a giant ruck rover once Hodor returns. BOG for mine.

The Wombat: great little debut, should play him off and on this year but what it proves yet again, always play a natural footballer over an athlete. Loved the oversized Eddy Betts styled shorts. Once he is fit, he should be permanent with Reid and Bolton at least until Kozzy arrives.

NOD: building nicely best game in the Bigs for a couple of years. Fitness coming back and with it dash and confidence.

Nev: nailing that snap and going back to his long run up after that miss off the short run should do wonders.

Johnnos third good game in a row, only one blooper with that out of bounds on the full and looks to have added that crucial second string to his bow: shut down midfielder role. I think he can shut down guys like the Bont and others.

Clearly a valuable asset. Contests well, clean skills and knows what to do in most situations. He could be a good option for sub long term. Otherwise, I would be happy to see him in the team over a couple of others in the back half.

We must have been watching different players. This pre-season and yesterday against Sydney his disposal was fine especially by foot.

He was part of the trade for pick 3, think the eagles wanted that so he wasn’t a free agent for life if he’d been delisted.

This seems plausible if you also have NOD and Johnson who can play inside/wing with Young and Serong playing inside/forward while Bolton Switta and Reid can play forward/inside.

Lots of different combinations and some great size with all of Jackson, Johnson, Young and NOD rotating through centre square.
