That's how the game is played these days though, First Crack has been highlighting this over recent weeks. Scores from a pure clearance/contested ball style gameplan have been dropping since 2021. You do need to have the fast ball movement to take advantage though (which we've now got after a few years of drafting/trading).

If it were still a contested ball/clearance game then Carlton would be winning every week and Longmuir would be hailed as a master coach. Instead, they still love bombing it forward from a clearance and turning it over; even when they get a turnover their ball movement is super slow and allows an opposition to defend them easier.

Hopefully the more moderate weather continues as the Lions game at the Gabba the other week was a shocker for heat and humidity and players the following week stated they felt ill effects

A couple days ago, Willyweather predicted pre-game showers 10a.m. to 1p.m.
Same prediction now.
With 28C that will crank up the Humidity making it real difficult, as you said.
We might lose 2 in a row on the back of weather and 6-then-5-day breaks .

Happy for Berry or Schoenberg to get a run in the midfield with Crouch out. Rachele is the harder replacement and I'm inclined to find a way to reshuffle and get Nankervis in.

Suspect it will be more of a like for like in a small forward role though. So either Pedlar or.... Murphy.

Would be very surprised if it's Taylor.
