Is anyone able to give an out of Towner a heads up for the open session tomorrow? Is there much parking available do you need to get there early?
Is it a 2 hr training session then mingle with fans or 2 hrs then it all wraps up?
Thanks
You should be able to find a spot in the surrounding side streets if you get there 15minutes early.

Typically at open sessions, they would do 1h30-1h45 before they starting signing things. Some players might tap out earlier though.

Dow and Tauru only concerns
If we can get to round 1 with just those 2 not available for selection, I will fair dinkum attempt a cartwheel .

With a near full squad available we should get some early wins on the board , get ourselves into the top 4 by gather round.

Have to admit I'm nervous we don't have cover for Battle this year and if Wilkie goes down we are in a world of pain. I know a few have mentioned Boyd as a tall defender - but when was the last time he played that role ? Hasn't he been a ruckman in his seasons at Norwood ?

If we lose Wilkie my guess is we bring McLennan in who has looked good playing the same role for B team in pre-season

This time of year is a very nervy time.

If we can cop a bit of luck and stay - injury free (for most part)
And no players acting like idiots, we may well have a good year.

So far, tigers player involved in a smack on, eagles player (video of a smack on)
Bulldogs star future in doubt (lifestyle)
Pies gun battling injury
Carlton injuries
Melbourne star rib injury

Over the years we have been smacked by injuries to our stars (touch wood) you just need a bit of luck at this time of year and dare I say it, our culture seems great!

We are going nicely under the radar, especially Herald Sun predicting we start 1-5?!
I heard from someone with good connections over the weekend that Curnow is looking at missing the first ten weeks.

Players hang around afterwards for photos and autographs.
Not heaps of parking but you'll find a spot in one of the streets nearby. Certainly better than when they played matches there.

Unconfirmed reports that Harry McKay did a shoulder today as well.

False alarm, just needed to be strapped apparently!

Only thing is we may have a few more injuries than we realise. Dow, Clark, Henry, Collard, Hastie, Tauru, Said I think are all in rehab and I may be missing some.

That's manageable. The most important player -by far- in that list is Henry. And he's tracking nicely from reports. Collard seems close, Dow to be completely honest I've already written off, I think he'll be delisted end of next season, I don't think he has any outstanding point-of-difference to carve out a career beyond that and if he does our young guys are stagnating, Clark wtf he's done a stomach muscle now but doesn't sound too bad, but very typical, Taura known quantity, Said fairly irrelevant and Hastie well let's hope he's back on track soon, but not a lynch pin.

If we can just keep this bill of health and IMO most importantly, if Henry can keep those guitar strings in tact, because he's got a fair ****en bit of the talisman about him, we're in a really strong spot injury-wise!

Fingers crossed.

Youre right but its also argurable that one, maybe two of those guys are starting 22.

Henry is, Clark and Dow MIGHT be pending their pre seasons but both have also likely shifted back in the midfield rotation pecking order with Macrae coming across and the emergence of Garcia and a few others seemingly flying on the track.

Hastie, Collard and Tauru are projects/depth.

Theyll hopefully get themselves right as we start to need some depth for niggles and rest

It's exactly what we need. Some young cocky egostistical mfers who want to stamp their names on the game. Our drafting strategy has changed dramatically in the last few years, in 2021 it turned the corner when we drafted Sharman in the mid-season, NAS at 11, Owens and Windy via Academy - that was the beginning of this group.

I really hope this year they find some success, as ultimately that's what will keep them together and of course, draw players to us.
