Caught a bit of the match sim today and thought the group as a whole were outstanding, who generally continue to impress with their effort and focus. A bit of coaching from Lenny I think shouting out re focus and being switched on.

Coaches seemed very happy with the intensity. Coaches were all over everything, such concentration. Killing our preparation this year, absolutely murdering it.

Very vocal all over now from what seems every player. I heard Stocker in particular screaming at Carroll re manning up. Get a feeling Stocker’s leadership could be useful down back this year. Wilkie excellent today for the reds.

Don’t think I saw Wood out there. Boyd laps around the boundary. Agree re Henry looking good now running with kicking drills with Collard (who has put on just a little size as you’d expect).

Definitely could have a player in Keeler, more nice things today, kicking and getting to the right marking spots, fitting in. Carroll made couple of mistakes and hanging his head, players supporting him.

RTB spending time behind goals in simulation specifically coaching Caminiti and Ari. I haven’t mentioned Jones much but he was influential again today.

In the running at end number 48 killing it with Wilson. Impressive legs on the guy, but didn’t really notice him in match. King was enormous today. Physically nimble and very quick, with clean hands some nice grabs. Kicking for goal fantastic.

Also attacking well; Pou (couple of good overhead marks and goal), Sharman, Owens (nice left footed snap set shot right through middle), Butler. Macrae excellent user. Good to see Windy collecting disposals. Garcia good again, tackling and using his speed.

Funnily enough I noticed Hall for the first time today as influential. Does a lot of hard running off the ball and steadies himself well with ball in hand. Toby quiet again for mine playing hbf. No Dow again.

Stocker has got skates on at the moment. Absolutely flying over the pitch.

Our Round 1 Team is just getting harder and harder to pick.

Stocker and Hall are now both pushing their case, both looking better than they ended 2024 season at.

Caminiti now be trialled again down back, so Arie may be squeezed out. This also possibly opens a slot in the 22 for Keeler if Caminiti is to play CHB. Keeler could rotate through the forward line and take over from Owens as the player whom gives Marshall a chop-out in the ruck.

Henry now starting back in training as a possible Round 1 selection if he can get fit enough, and match conditioned enough.

We just need Clark to get off the exercise bike, and onto the ground, to make selection even harder.

Round 1 Selection night is going to be eagerly awaited.

Just saw saintmike drop to his knees in Coles.

Defibrillator required in Aisle 4?

Though on a more serious note, we needed to add a back up ruck and there were not a lot of options given we did not want to trade for a ruck. Plus getting Dodson so late made that decision a very good one in hindsight. At least Boyd is at the age (26) where rucks run into their best period, and now fulltime in the AFL he should be ample to get his body fitter, and stronger, than it has ever been.

Plus he also serves as a back-up key defender as well.

The video posted by the club showing the announcement of Boyd's signing starts with "now for a more positive announcement". Concerning...
2025 season has been cancelled. Andrew Dillon and the other great minds at the AFL have read every post in here and have called it early. Couldn't see us losing a game.

In all seriousness, hope it's genuinely nothing.

Idk if this has been said here but Dow has an infected knee and could miss the first part of the season

Almost a repeat of last year :(

OOC 2026
That's nuts, he hasnt had surgery on it has he? In December he did an interview saying he's flying. That really sucks. Hopefully some clarification from the club soon as to what's going on.

He had a knee arthroscope over Christmas break

Losing Battle is going to leave a hole in any side, especially when we didn't have a ready made replacement.

Like anything it's going to take time to learn his positioning, but I think he is more physically ready than Shoenmaker at least.

I think we are going to have to bite our lips for a little while and give him or others time to find their feet as we did with Battle.
Reckon we’ll go after Leek Alir

For those worried about that quote; "a bit more of a positive announcement"

It was a setup to make the players think there wasn't going to be an announcement on Boyd. Misso said he wanted Tyler to come up and lecture the boys on Caminiti's 21st birthday (which looked ****ing lit btw) but Tyler confirmed that was a joke and went on to announce Boyd's signing
