I feel like the club could have put a bit more effort in to a highlights package than that.
Budget all spent on videos of the head cucumber hugging players for some reason

Gotta give Dylan credit, all his posts on Instagram the last month has been him working out. Seems to be taking his footy real serious. He shared a post of him and Ugle-Hagan post work out at 6am this morning.

Stark contrast to previous years. Good job

I was stoked that after getting a kick up the bum and delisted he was willing to resign rather than testing the market ...... taking ownership of his performance after the wakeup call.

Was this contract for 2 years on the main list or 1 main + 1 on rookie list.

Given our nothing picks in 2023 draft and need to draft 3 players, but rookie elevations of 1 or 2 players counts as part of 3, surely we are upgrading Williams to the 2024 main list and not worrying about the $80k salary cap dodge.

This 2021 AFL website article confirms that clubs can use 1 or 2 rookie upgrades as part of the minimum 3 selections.

AFL rules mandate clubs using three picks at the national draft, but with the Suns only having space for their top draft selection – No.3 – on their full list, clubs can also fill the other two spots via re-selecting their players or upgrading rookies.

I asked the question about Williams on the List Management thread. Our first pick is currently #73 so we won't have much opposition when we get that low down. Last year we took Kyle Marshall at pick #59 and that was the last pick in the entire National Draft. If we upgrade Williams with the #73 pick what happens? The AFL Draft site only gives us one pick at #73.

We don't upgrade players with a pick, we just upgrade them. They used to insert a pick many drafts ago when a rookie was elevated, now they just elevate them. Think 2013 was the last drat they gave an elevated rookie a draft number.

I doubt that the blokes at AFL Media know what the list sizes are correct and how many spaces there are for each club.

This just looks like the standard put the numbers out for 5 rounds ie 18x5 = 90 and add the 5 compo picks to get to 95.

The bulldogs and gold coast haven't cut 10 players off their main lists.

Thanks for that. The bloody rules change that often that it is hard to keep up with them.

By my count we have 40 players on the main list and if we upgrade Dylan Williams as expected that will make it 41. Lycett, Fantasia and Hayes are still unsigned so I reckon there is a chance that they will be delisted with maybe Sam Hayes being Rookie listed if no one picks him up. That would give us room on our list to draft 3 players if we have to and a ruck division of Soldo, Sweet, Visentini and Hayes.
