No, I wouldn’t have been, but that was almost 30 years ago.

Every club in the AFL has had ample time to sort their shit out since then.

Do we give these Melbourne clubs that rely on the AFL another 15, 20, 30 years?
Answered your own question.

I donated cash to the Hawks to keep them alive...

That's your team.

Without a lot of largesse from the AFL , clubs like Collingwood and Carlton and opposition supporters you wouldn't have a club to support.

Expansion is great. I support it.
It's great for the game, but not at any cost.
Especially the cost of an existing side.

Whoopdy doo

I know some might take offense to this, but I sometimes wonder how good Clarko was?

Given how many of his assistant coaches went on to have success.
I sometimes wonder were some of his assistants better than he was.

No one can deny Clarko was holding Hawthorn back the last few years of his time there.

Dimma has the Suns firing... North have been down just as much if not longer getting the top picks in the Draft.
You can't say things like oh they lost JHF that set them back, North in reality probably won that trade.

The Suns lost Izak Rankine it didn't seem to hurt them much.

Clarkson must have done something right during those Premierships
but you have to wonder if it was it more talent on the list? or having great assistants.

I'll even say when Hardwick coached, Richmond how much was it him? we had good players at their peak
and great assistants like Craig McRae, Adam Kingsley, Blake Caracella, Justin Leppitsch.

It shows that you need a good playing list and a good coaching team Collingwood did it in 2023.

Sam Mitchell has completely outperformed Clarko at North when I feel like North should be ahead given the talented players they have got through the draft.

It’s been 2 and a bit years and North are still yet to show any sort of defensive identity under him.

Initially I thought prioritising Northball might work, let the kids play with flair and freedom instead of over coaching them trying to play a defensive style that prevents big losses, but they are still giving up 110 points per game and seem to have so many one way runners in their back half. They just don’t look like they have a solid foundation to build and attack on and some young players are building some bad habits.

Their list management absolutely hasn’t helped though (how Aiden Corr is still getting a game is beyond me).

They will be asking the afl to give them further priority picks because they traded their next first round pick.

Another 50 point drubbing. Competition has been compromised by this mob for too long

Says someone who’s team hasn’t won a final since before a third of the league’s players were even born 👍🏼

All clubs rely on the AFL.

And the AFL rely on all clubs.
