I have always thought that getting lots of disposals might hep your club win games.

There's plenty of times it's better for the team if you pass or tap it off to a team mate in a better position. A lot of touches like cheap 1/2s running around the back or hero shots of goal (when you have plenty of team mates in a better position) don't actually help you win much. Lot of Carlton players were looking out for themselves way more than the team.

We have shown a lot over the last few years that high disposal numbers does not equal good play that will win you the game. We are regularly in the bottom for teams for disposals but high for scoring, efficiency and actually winning games
