AFL need to sort out this "not 15" crap

They are calling play on on kicks that are over 20m and mark on some that are clearly under 10m

I agree there's some issues with consistency. But I am a huge fan of moving away from a time where kicks that didn't even travel 10 metres were routinely paid as marks. So I'll wear the wrinkles of sorting that out to get to a time where we see the ball mostly travel much closer to 15 metres before a mark is awarded.

Just like when we was out there on the field, Toma has never needed to dominate to feel like he's making an important contribution. He truly knows no other way.

It hasn't been great yet, I agree. But I definitely don't think it has been worse, given how many single-digit kicks were paid as marks in recent years across the comp. And the overall direction of travel in making players have to properly kick the ball to see a mark paid has to be a benefit to footy in the long run.
