He should have got a goal assist for dropping the mark so Heeney could run on to it. No way Francis would have got the set shot.

The AFL rules in relation to these head knocks is like regulation of the building industry.

The rules don't actually do anything to prevent the knocks, just as you're no more likely to get a well built building, but there will be punishment / we can work out who is liable.

The coaches have been dishonest here. Buckley has given a pretty good insight into the issue. Players are trained to exploit the other aspect of their training (tackling) and the whistle, taking advantage of too much time before the whistle is blown.

No. He was hunting the ball and then braced for contact when Libba moved into his way. The right call was made IMO.
