American gamers losing their minds that they have to pay $90 for Switch 2 games lmao

What about us poor Australians who have to pay over $100 for video games. These Americans can suck a fat one about time they are getting charged an arm and a leg for games.
The Americans have engaged in their favourite hobby: spreading misinformation.

Some moron read the EU price of 90 as the US price and it has spread from there. Already hundreds of YouTube videos on something that isn’t true. Not a single official US retail has Mario Kart World listed for $90 USD.

I remember seeing old 90s catalogues with Super Nintendo games and the like still anywhere around $70-90 AUD. So yeah games have generally been the one thing somewhat resistant to inflation. I suppose that's ending, there has already been talk of GTA 6 being quite bit pricier.

That's even worse - $156AUD, they are really being stung.

Still need to use two switches to transfer you save files over that's just dumb. why cant I just log in with my Nintendo id on the Switch 2 and then download/sync my save files
That would be too convenient

Will buy it, but at launch or at the 1 year mark ?

I can get by with just the new Mario Kart and hopefully the NSO classic library remains untouched. The new Donkey Kong.... will need to see more but if it's just Super Mario Odyssey redone as DK...... I'll skip it.

On the Switch I started off with first party titles, but it gradually just became another system that I'd play the Switch version of titles I own on other platforms (Rocket League, TMNT, Dark Souls etc).

Actually I might’ve quoted GBP or Canadian, I’ll have to check, either way the 90 figure was not the US price.

I checked, you were right the first time and it is the euro price. Having said that, the 80USD price is also pre tax so they are still paying obscene amounts, and close to 90USD when sales tax is typically 7-10%.

Console price is about what I expected given what the prices of Switch OLED are at the moment, but man the games.. a bit steep.. but what can I say, they got me hook line and sinker with Yakuza 0 so I'll pre-order it tomorrow after work lol

Went in just before close and was told $130, looks like they’ve already put it down.

I just confirmed with the girlfriend... she got $193 for the Oled Switch and a micro SD this afternoon.

Wild if they cut it down that quickly. We're level 5 with the EB world, if that matters much.

Very keen for this and catching up on game news. At this stage think I'll just grab Mario Kart and hang out for Pokemon Legends Z-A. Donkey Kong Bananza doesn't look worth it.

I’m only level 2 but they did not ask for my level when I checked today. I didn’t mention a micro SD either which I have.

I'm out of touch.

I have no issue paying $80 for a brand new game on a new console.

Gamers freaking out at the "Game Key Card" for physical games where the cartridge acts like a key then you download the game.

Personally I think it will be a lot of the 3rd party games that will do this and Nintendo first party games will on the cartridge Donkey Kong,Metriod 4 don't have that warning on the box art

I'd ignore what 'gamers' have to say, they'll freak out about anything then scratch their heads on why Call of Duty, GTA and NBA games are consistently the highest selling year-by-year.. I'm more than likely going mostly digital anyway just for the convenience.
