Games out in less than a month and 0 gameplay footage - good sign that.

Funny how we all start chiming in with our ideas for improvement when the dev work is all done and the game is finalized. At least in theory haha, guess that's not what happened 2 years ago!

One thing for me that they did a decent job of last time but could improve is punishing the long bomb inside 50. Having a Steven May take the mark 90% of 2 v 1 type thing, to prevent the slow ball movement long bomb which never works in real AFL. And differentiating the teams/players on a related note, should be able to feel a 99 Dustin Martin being completely dominant over a 70 rating. Hopefully they've fixed this as removes any point in trading, drafting etc if players don't play significantly different.

The whole game will be, as is their MO. Reuse everything and add some superficial broken feature and hey presto, more cashflow.
The bigger shock will end up being people paying $100 for this game and then being surprised that it’s as crappy and broken as AFL23.

I’m a sucker for a new AFL game so I’ll reserve judgement until the game comes out but there’s a big chance I come back to the dark side 🤣
Or light side ? 🤷🏽‍♂️
 
I'll be really shocked if it's polished, they're releasing games unfinished and just developing them after it's out.

I gave them the benefit of the doubt after AFL 23 was released but after the releases of Cricket 24/Tie Break and Rugby it was obvious that BA were rushing out games broken and fixing them on the fly whilst paying customers who paid full price for their games were basically beta testers.

And then releasing gambling modes that break whenever new objectives are added while raking in more money from those with more dollars than sense.

At this point it's probably preferable. Better chance of fixing something that they've been trying to fix for 2 years than starting back at square 1.

This actually reminds me of the AFL23 trailer how Pendles picks up the ball whilst simultaneously doing a blind turn

I really hope they fix the player models for the new game. I remember the player sizes were weird too, players were really really thin or really wide, I remember Sicily had the same body shape as Stringer. I realise as I'm writing this that the reason is probably that the devs don't care enough to pay enough attention/put enough detail into this stuff.

Crazy that I'm praying they don't make players look like spongebob, but here we are. My hopes aren't high on this...
