Can't find an article stating it, but Richmond got a pick at the end of the second round as compo.

I'm sure I've seen it quoted in the $400-450k range, but can't find confirmation.
Chol was unrestricted free agent, no trade (as he was delisted and re-drafted as rookie by Tigers). I also remember rumour around $400K.

Thought he was on big coin. But that's not bad for his 2022 seasons output. I would love him on Collingwoods list on that coin. You guys need some points for academy picks. I'm sure that you could get a solid deal for him.

Who said that Suns are shopping Chol? All Cal said that he could be a trade option for clubs seeking KPF due to limited market and lack of opportunity. I have little doubt clubs are interested but so far I did not hear that Chol wants to leave or Suns are shopping him.
From 8.10

"Categorically available" and suitors "don't have to give up much for him" are the two key phrases.

Chol has been raised as a strong trade possibility by Twomey twice over the past day (on Gettable and SEN).

A KPF/ruck hybrid would have to be one of the more sought after positional needs this off-season.

Only 26 years old, so still young enough to attract a long term offer.

He'll be behind King, Walter, Lukosius, and Casboult next year, so negligible chance of our getting an extended run at it in the seniors for the foreseeable future.

Besides, he's already been traded out of a Hardwick team once already.

On the flipside, the Suns' draft hand is already loaded with picks. So, what gets it done?
Not sure how much value a player that's behind Casboult could possibly have

Was a crazy contract offer from the suns. Chol is super talented but has a poor work rate and non-competitive often. He's an icing on top type player. 3rd tall/2nd ruck option. If any club takes him expecting him to be a 1st or 2nd banana in the forward line they're making a mistake.

I'd have him as Comben insurance for a third rounder.

But he’s currently under contract. And presumably GC would like someone to stump up the cash for their liabilities.
I reckon if anyone wants him he'll be pretty much free. They'd just be keen to get the salary off their books.

Think this guy is a bit underrated. Kicked 40+ goals last year. Those forward/ruck types are valuable. Could have a similar impact to someone like Finlayson at Port. I think the dees or GWS could do worse.

Would fit our profile at Dees if we lost Grundy. Great depth and we would have cap space, obviously pick 4 trade would need to be mashed in as an added benefit.

Kicked 44 goals last year so obviously talented. Many of the regular forwards in the comp have done considerably worse. I'm a fan of Casboult but strange that the Suns continued to play him and King in front of Chol. Assume coaches don't like his defensive stuff.

The coaches seemed to have valued Casboult's ability to compete in the air and contest, something Chol doesn't do a lot of.

12 months removed it is crazy that we got 79 goals from a Chol/Casboult forward line.

Talent undoubtedly there for Chol but lacks a little of that mentality that great forwards have.
