Watching last nights game reinforced to me that our game plan/ structures are sub standard.
the way Melbourne high press to stop the central kick defensively, and stream back when they turn it over offensively,
the way Sydney were able to lose the first contested ball, not have too many drawn to the ball and ball carrier, then intercept those clearing handballs/ first possessions of viney petracca et al. if we could have done a little of that last year we'd be reigning premiers.
and there are times when standing up to the mark is a clear advantage, and times when its not, we have to bring in a hybrid version next year specifying when and where its a benefit or a liability, and allow players to manage it in game.
