I feel like the Freo supporters will be disappointed with the outcome here. Similar to the Essendon ones
You might be right.

I would love pick 21. But at best dockers will get pick 32. I hope Freo gets 32.

Henry is out of contract. You could say take pick 50 or 2024 3rd rounder or nothing.

Again.... Henry is out of contract.

It'll actually go down

If there are 6 players picked (4 gc, 1 dog, 1 hawk)

And then GC are 99.95% going to further split their picks on draft night, so it'll go even further down (gc are doing this as they don't have enough points yet)
Gc are goong to have to use multiple r1 and rd 2 picks to get just two of those players. North would have to have a crack at both Walters and Read with pick 3. All those picks get eaten up and make the number go down not up, so 30 goes to 25.

Man, I dont think you really understand how it works, dont forget that while a pick gets eaten up, you also push it back a spot from the bid.

Snuff and I have already explained in our posts why you are wrong

GC are going to trade down again on draft night, past your pick, meaning that pick will not only have less picks Infront eaten up but it will also have the bids of 6 players pushing it back upto 6 spots

At the very very best it will stay stagnant, it is much more likely to be pushed back multiple spots

So if we give you 35 and 55 for Henry then you could readily change that into a much higher draft pick by swapping picks with GC. Seems like the better option than 21. That's if Gold Coast are going to trade down picks.

He certainly is, your own list manager rated him pick 9.
The guy is worth pick 30, played a couple of good games at the back end of this season. Pick 35 and 55 is about where he is worth, that allows you guys to swap picks and try and move up.
If you take pick 21 then I doubt you're swapping it as you don't have a first round pick, thanks to Luke Jackson.

I find that pick 35 and 55 would be a good deal but I get how you guys feel, if Dockers said we give you pick 35 and 55 for NWM then I would be outraged as well.

NWM just finished 5th in the best and fairest in just his second year.

Of course we would be outraged if we were offered 35 and 55 for him, but he is leaps and bounds ahead of Liam Henry already.

To be honest.... I would actually take pick 35 and 55 over 21.

pick 21 is good, likely to get a half decent 18 or 19 year old.

Pick 35 could get freo a serviceable mature aged 21-24 year old, so could pick 55.

Saints have pick 92, 110 and 118.

I doubt saints would trade a future 2024 pick, maybe a 3rd or 4th rounder. I wouldnt mind either.

Haha, given we are on record wanting an early 2nd, we are definitely no looking at pick 35. I'm sure SOS might be looking at that pick though
What you want and what you get are going to be different.

Twomeys article just now pretty much backs this up.
In reality, Henry’s game time this year, left a lot of Freo fans thinking Henry is a bit meh.

They are more peeved with a player being nurtured by a club, then flitting away when the first blossom occurs.
Let’s be clear. I’m under no illusion what we are getting in Henry and have no expectations of even a consistent good footballer.

And after 12 years of paying and drafting kids based on potential. I’m very much ready to just start dealing in actual output and over the time Henry has had with you blokes. It really has been bugger all for a #9 pick

That’s true, but if we send him to the psd he won’t get to StK.
Too point out how silly this argument is.

21 will become 25 on draft night.

but you would send him to the PSD and GET NOTHING because you don’t rate 35…..

It would be your highest or second highest pick in the draft (depending on if you trade Schultz)

It’s not silly, every one rates him more than 35 except Sos at trade week when he was willing to use pick 9 on him 4 years ago.

He’s show a high ceiling this year with a 2nd half break out and is most likely going to be better than anything pick 21 will get you.

If we hold our ground and it’s pick 21 or psd, we might even convince him to resign if the trade fails and he doesn’t want go to WC, North or Hawks as he’s not getting to the Saints.

Both teams have no leverage. See Freo & Melbourne in the Jackson trade, it has to be market rates.

What he was taken at 4 years ago is irrelevant now. His 3 1/2 years in the system with you guys has been pretty poor/disappointing.

Not sure he has broken out on just had a handful of high possession games across the second half of the year.

Undoubtedly he got a lot of the ball. But he didn’t hurt the opposition either.

Clearly understandable why SOS thinks he is worth the late second we are getting from Coffield. Whilst he hasn’t played in 2 years. Finished 5th in the BnF the season we won a final - Henry hasn’t shown that yet

Yes, looks like im set to be disgusted at what this trade goes through for

Ok so to quote an often used line “tell us you know nothing about Henry without telling us you know know nothing about him”
You’re aware he was injured for his first full year with a dislocated kneecap yeah? Didn’t play a game.
He was also about 65kg for a couple of years, only just started putting on muscle the last year or so.
He was also asked to play a new position this season which is why he got sent back to WAFL early in the year to get a handle on.
When he came back mid season he was a completely different player, couches votes, Brownlow votes, BOG’s and half a season of very good football in a role he’d only just picked up. Not just “a couple of high possession non damaging games”

Actually, to add to this, the main knock on him in the second half of this season when he was playing well is that he always tried to take on the high risk/high reward kick into the corridor, not always paying off.
Is literally the exact opposite of a high possession non damaging player (well was trying to be at least)
