Parking the glee from King about the situation and the general tosser that is Cornes, the discussion around JHF's temperamental nature in a bottom of the ladder team is one worth having.

JHF is a born winner, a competitive beast, a guy who hates losing more than he loves winning. This is what we love about him but it also becomes a challenge in a team sport where you can be that guy but be surrounded by turkeys who you will perceive are holding you back. I don't know what the answer to this is but he needs to find it or he will continue to be a frustrated player like he was on Thursday and we won't see the best of him on a week to week basis.

The irony that he'd be better off at North right now is not lost on me either.

JHF is looking more like a man who thinks the kangaroos will win a premiership before his pathetic club will!
He was hood winked by the pied piper of alberton just like so many others have been.
Everything that koch and hinkly have said has turned to crap!

JHF has said he wants to be the best player in the competition. It's time to start acting like it. It won't just happen because you're a great talent. Take a leaf out of Russell Ebert's book.

Nah, its all good. His generation doesn't need to do that. Everything comes to them through entitlement.

all and none of it can be true for Jason.

He might be carrying something. He might be struggling with his role or the change in team tactics. Perhaps there is some off field stuff. Perhaps he’s struggling with getting booed by every Victorian crowd, slammed in the media and getting dheads messaging him crap on social media. Maybe he’s finding losing hard. Perhaps he is selfish and lazy. Maybe he is down on confidence. Maybe he is just in a form slump or just had a couple of crap games.

Regards of all that BS, I love watching JHF play and am bloody glad he is at port. He’s a great kid and port need to get around him. Hope he can get that enjoyment for footy back.

Absolutely, it's not going to happen by itself but who's going to tell him that if he want's to be the best player he needs to make it happen and do everything right? Pretty sure it won't be the guy who walks around smiling after a bad loss.

He needs a decent role model/mentor at the club, someone who will drive him to be the absolute best he can be, something he's lacking in severely at the moment.

Hopefully when Carr takes over we get the attitude change the place desperately need, but that one change isn;t enought we need a wholistic changes across the entire footy department.

When Josh Carr takes over would be great to have a recently retired champion to help with likes of JHF, a Selwood a Pendlebury etc.
Would you be inspired by a Lobbe Hartlett Sutcliffe???

I know people like to shitpot Travis Boak but if you want a role model for working at getting the absolute best out of yourself, you need look no further. Players at other clubs like Christian Petracca and Touk Miller have highlighted the positive influence Boak has had on their rise up football ranks.

Not to pot Boak but he's done a lot of good and a lot of bad. It's a hard no from me.

We need an attitude overhaul back to the Creed and he won't be able to provide that.

I didn't watch it live but if I did I would've seen that amazing piece of play and thought we were going to run over them with the top tier of talent that usually has to be the heavy lifting.

But at the present time, it looks like Hinkley has run out of 'get out of jail free' cards.

Butters is injured. Rozee had a bad game. The Hornet was up and down all night. Houston is a Pie. Big Dixon being thrown in the ruck and winning by sheer force is a long time ago. Robbie Gray is a distant memory.

Those names in your last sentence make me want to throw up.
As I’ve said before we need real footy people that have been successful, the likes of Lobbe and Sutcliffe wouldn’t get a job selling hot dogs on match day.

This all sounds a bit melodramatic and sensationalised, which seems to be your theme but maybe he is just out of form and needs to own that and improve rather than it being everyone else’s fault.

I’m certain he wouldn’t think he is better off at north or the reason for his form being a little off is because he is surrounded by turkeys. He has probably made as many mistakes as anyone.

Absolutely Ford. And it might just be time to start running every time the ball is in your area, not just waiting for the perfect ones to pounce on.

Nothing shits me more than a highly skilled player that doesn't seem to be working hard enough.

Massive over reaction by the media and fans in my opinion.

He hasn't had the best start to the season, but he's not been terrible either. We all have high hopes for him and what he can bring, but he's only shown it in patches.

Does he have a lot to learn? Yes of course, he's 21. He looked frustrated at times, as he should be. He was one of the few trying to urge the team to lift in the last quarter when the game was on the line, but far too many of his team mates just cruised around and let Essendon beat us.

How he channels and displays that frustration is something he needs to learn, but he didn't give up like some of his team mates. It can be frustrating when you're the only one (or few) out there trying to make things happen whilst everyone else is happy cruising.
