I feel this is exactly what happens when any side plays the All Blacks they go out believing they All Blacks are better and that’s how it plays out.

Respect them before and after the game but during the game they are just another player.
I think there is a bit of that, also the haika seems to get into some heads, but ultimately I think they win all the time, because they're just bloody good. It's just such a much bigger sport in NZ than anywhere else in the world.

Anyone who saw G play in the VFL for more than a qtr could see this coming.

He was very obvious in his raising of the arm to make the arm slip high. Did it all the time.
I laughed when his 1st or 2nd possession in the AFL was exactly this action.

He does it differently to Selwood. Selwood 'ducks' into it, where is G raises his arm to make it slip high.
So it looks far more obvious and player driven (even though they are both as bad as each other).

He legit got 2 high on the weekend that were missed. I feel this is because of his reputation.

He really does have a choice to make.....continue with it, or stop it.
But if he continues it, the umps will treat him harshly because he isn't a 'superstar'.
So he will have to live with that.

PS. anyone who think danger or selwood play to the same rules as everyone else....just go watch the game again and see how much they both get away with. Horrific double standards!!

You have 2 million players in England and only 4 million people in NZ. But we are starting to get off topic

Selwood does both depending on the situation but I don’t think either bad, tacklers should just adapt.
Every young bloke ducks these days, Toby McLean amongst others copped it in the media. But if we allow senior players to get away with it what will change? Selwood inspired a generation and is one of the greatest players of his generation, but just because he has achieved success it doesn’t mean we should ignore this
I don’t think anything has to change except more onus going onto the tacklers

There needs to be a change, we need to get rid of ducking.

I think Ginivan has huge potential, I love how he gets under the skin and accept that he does duck and that’s modern footy.

But we need to move the game away from this trend of ducking and playing for free kicks

It won't change. It's not just about free kicks. With tackles going higher than they used to in an attempt to pin the arms, it's easier to get low and push the tackle up to break it or get your arms free than to stand upright and push the tackle down.

Tackle height has never changed, people have always tackled upright body on body. Ducking is a blight on the game and shouldn’t be rewarded

Collingwood young gun Nick Daicos says the Magpies “love” what Jack Ginnivan brings to the table, amid renewed criticism of the second-year forward.
Ginnivan was called out for taking hold of a GoPro camera to video the celebrations after Collingwood’s Round 1 win over St Kilda.

He was also criticised for staging in last weekend’s Round 3 loss to Geelong.

Daicos said Ginnivan was just following club requests and playing his role.

“We’ve had this philosophy throughout the entire pre-season and going into the year that we want to give back to the community and our fan base who have stuck with us paying membership fees and watching games during Covid,” Daicos said.

“So we thought the GoPro would give them great insight. Jack was encouraged by the club to take it, so it’s nothing on Jack. He just keeps playing his role and we love what he’s about.”

Daicos said he had tried to focus on his football and avoid the spotlight in his debut season, which has seen him average 25 disposals from his first three games.

“I try and avoid the GoPro and the cameras to be honest,” he said.

Ginnivan has played all three games for the Magpies this season, kicking four goals.

Good on him for being brave enough to be his own person and not worry about the old men hate him for not fitting into their narrow view of the world.
Need more of him in this industry. Some personality, who doesnt conform to who the typical the afl expects you to be.

As well as being a sport, AFL is part of the entertainment industry and he's bloody entertaining.

The deeper the media and betting shops bite into the AFL commission the less sport and more entertainment is on show.

I'm a straight forward person sr, I understand subtlety and even enjoy it at times but having spent the last 30 years of my working life working flat out for 60+ hours a week I got out of the habit of indulging in it.

Just too bloody tired for it then.

The gut-busting life of a short, wirey yet strong professional driver would knock all the subtlety out of any man.

I feel like if Cornes hadn't run his piece about Ginni after round 1, the situation would have been different. Some of the attention on Saturday may not have happened and I certainly think we would not be worrying/talking about him as much.
Agreed. That Cornes has continued on (aided and a abetted by the banner v Adelaide) is tantamount to bullying IMO by Cornes.
The kid has a lot of talent but is a really young kid vs an opinionated footy reporter who (obviously) has access to multi media. Cornes needs to realise his power and self reflect; however that requires some insight which I suspect he lacks.
