Meet Up Is anyone going to our round 1 game in Geelong?

I've got a possible conflict of schedules that won't be resolved till a day or two before the game, otherwise I'd stick my hand up as tour guide/security...

From Southern Cross station, it's about an hour trip and then a bit of a walk to the stadium. The train is packed on game day, so take one of the earlier trains and make something of the trip to Geelong, go and eat brunch in town, it's an old town filled with pride, there is a lot to like about it and an abundance of good natured, salt of the earth folk.

But... while there is a lot to like about it, don't forget, it's Geelongistan. They have a (very small) contingent of <insert expletives here>, be wise and don't stick your head above the parapet... So if you pop into a public house for a friendly, celebratory sherry, make it a short tipple and egress with godspeed to the locomotive terminal, don't hang around while they drown their sorrows - the train has a canteen on it, get a glass of whatever there, or celebrate back in Melbourne. Their rabble don't take kindly to losses (or wins/draws/forfeitures/cancellations/public holidays/work days/funerals/celebrations/kittens).

Thank you for the advice.

This cyclone brewing could help us

Talk is it may be cancelled and moved to round 3

So feelings first game will be against us. Not letting them blow the rust out

Hi dockerfemme probably worth reaching out to this FB group:

I have no affiliation but our Vic supporters have always been impressively loud when watching games from here in Perth (hats off to you ladies and gents)

Heya

We haven't caught up for ages and I'm not flying over to Vic for the game unfortunately as I do like visiting Geelong

If you ever head to a Peel game I'd like to catch up and watch it with you. I hope you enjoy the trip over to east.

Can anyone recommend a good place to sit. Undercover and good view.

Thanks
I usually plonk myself near the freo supporters and suffer whatever the weather throws at me.

Bureau of Meteorology forecasts min 16C, max 29C and possible showers. Plus you stated undercover.

They renovated the stadium and put on a big awning around the ground. Afternoon game, sun sets in the west, keep it out of your eyes and sit on the western end. Weather will likely come from the Westish to Southish directions, so it kills 2 birds with one stone to be undercover in the Southwest.

Zoom in and you can see the seating areas https://www.kardiniapark.vic.gov.au/interactive-stadium-map/#/?minimized=true

When I put my member barcode in the ticket site is only letting me buy in the southernmost stand which isn't what I want on a 34 degree day so unless that changes I'll be watching at home
