Fort against Port's second string would've been better. He's shown form in the VFL and this would've been a good chance to give him a run in the seniors - and give Stanley a rest if that's what they're up to with him. He went ok last week.

Look, no one's under any illusions about Stanley. He's an enormously inconsistent, frustrating player. That being said, I'm struggling to understand how they can possibly justify picking Ratugolea ahead of him again. Sav's offering nothing very little in the ruck, nothing as a chop-out contested marking option on the wing, and nothing as a forward.

The only justification I can think of is that they are convinced having Blicavs as our ruck for around-the-ground stoppages is of supreme importance, and so they reason if Blitz is going to be doing most of the stoppage ruckwork then Stanley's superior ability to Sav in the ruck is of less relevance.

I like that Sav's getting games but I don't think how they're playing him does him any favours. Weird role where he just takes centre bounces then vibes around across half forward. Even put how he's playing aside, it's not worth having a player in the team to do that as far as I can tell.

He must be neutralising the centre bounces or something. Not winning taps but not conceeding goals from centre clearances when he is in there either. The defensive side of the ruck contest would have to be the only thing he would have over Stanley.
